WHY THE FIG TREE WAS CURSED! MOVE FROM THE NORMAL! J esus cursed the Fig Tree because IT WAS NORMAL AND NATURAL. Vs. 13 of today’s scripture says: “ And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, He came, if haply He might find anything thereon: and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.” Note: “for the time of figs was not yet.” That means, it was not the season of FIGS to bear fruit! But the big question is: “WHO CREATED THE SEASON OF FIGS AND WHY CURSE THAT INNOCENT FIG TREE WHO WAS ONLY OBEYING THE CREATOR?” Ah! What the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that YOU CAN CHOOSE TO MOVE OUT OF THE NATURAL LIFE INTO THE SUPERNATURAL LIFE! We are all created NATURAL AND ORDINARY! But you can choose to become SUPERNATURAL or EXTRAORDINARY! The choice is yours! No wonder Heraclitus quipped: “The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.” Somebody has rightly said, “Life is all about the choices we make. The decisions we take every single day, whether small or big, impact our lives in one way or another and determine how our coming years would unfold.” You can decide to become different from your church members by fasting and praying more! You can decide to become different from others by the way you control your sleep and how many hours you spend on your determination to finish your Bible! You can decide to become different in your generation by crying out like DAVID in Psalm 86:1 – “Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.” He was saying: “LORD, I AM POOR AND EMPTY WITHOUT YOU! I WANT MORE OF YOU AND LESS OF ME!” HE HAD AN UNCOMMON HUNGER FOR THE SUPERNATURAL! Determine to start doing what others are not doing! Stop being ordinary! Determine to restore your NIGHT PRAYERS! Determine to flee that secret sin! Determine to give more to God financially! Determine to be ON FIRE for God as you cry out daily: LORD, take me to my FIRST LOVE FOR YOU! Be EXTRAORDINARY!
