God has a history of using the insignificant to accomplish the impossible! Is it not true that problems are opportunities in disguise? Is it not also true that choice, not chance determines all human destinies? Is it not a wonder that the winner of the 100-meter race (also the fastest woman on earth) during the 1960 Olympics was paralyzed at the age of four due to the disease, Polio? She was W. Wilma Rudolph, born into a poor home in Tennessee, in the USA. Due to the triple attack of Pneumonia, Fever and Polio, she was paralyzed and doctors said, “She must wear a brace through her days on this planet.” In her bedridden state, as she heard stories of sports heroes and heroines, she said she made up her mind that she wanted to be the fastest woman on the track on the earth someday! At the age of nine, against the advice of the doctors, she removed the brace and took the first step the doctors had said she never would. At age 13, she ran her first race and finished last! At age 15, she went to Tennessee State university where she met a coach by name Ed Temple. She told the coach, “My goal is to become the fastest woman on this planet.” The summary of the story is that after so many trials, she got into the US Olympic team. Truly, problems are opportunities in disguise! This little girl who was told she would never walk again on this earth at age four, won the 10Ometers, 200meters and the 400meters events of the 1960 Olympics!Wow! Dear child of God, in this year 2026, no matter what you are going through or will go through, if you do not allow the wicked forces of depression, discouragement, self-pity and selfcomparism to steal your determination and faith in God, your story of laughter will spread afar. Winston Churchill said, “Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality that guarantees all others.”Be a Joshua! Be a Caleb! Be courageous! Your story of laughter will spread afar off in Jesus name!
