RCCG Open Heaven 4 November 2026 Daily Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye – PURIFY YOURSELF
Topic: PURIFY YOURSELF

Memorise:
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
— James 4:8 (KJV)
Read: Numbers 8:5-11 (KJV)
5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.
RCCG Open Heavens 4 November 2026 Today’s Message by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Many years ago, I attended a Pentecostal conference in Kenya, where several anointed and popular ministers in the Pentecostal movement at the time were present. Even though I was not invited, I attended anyway because I was so hungry for God. Towards the end of the conference, we had a session titled ‘meditation.’ During this session, someone played the guitar and sang choruses, while the rest of us prayed in the Spirit. I was meditating when suddenly, I was transported to heaven.
It was an open vision because I wasn’t sleeping. I found myself in a very large room, which looked like a dome. There was someone sitting on a throne extremely far away. Angels stood on both sides of the room, millions of them to my right, and millions of them to my left. They were quite huge, and their appearance is very difficult to describe. They were not white; there are just no words to describe them. The closest I can get to describing them is when you put clear water in a crystal glass; there is no word to describe that type of colour.
When I turned to the right, the angels to my right moved back; when I turned to the left, the angels to my left also moved back. None of them said a word, but it occurred to me to take a look at myself. When I did, I noticed that I was completely naked and was covered with all kinds of rubbish as if I had just been pulled out of a sewer. On noticing that, I understood why the angels moved away from me, and the vision vanished suddenly. After seeing that, I told the Almighty God, “When I return to that throne room, I won’t come dirty.” That is the reason holiness has become a priority to me.
Beloved, without holiness, no man can see God (Hebrews 12:14). If you are still living in sin, you cannot see God, and any man who cannot see God cannot have access to the good and perfect gifts that can only come from Him (James 1:17). Do not serve God with an impure heart. It is time to draw nearer to Him and ask Him to purify you from anything that might be preventing you from seeing Him. If you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13), and you will experience His goodness in all areas of your life.
Reflection:
Are you living a holy life and seeking God with all your heart?
Bible in One Year:
John 7-8
Hymn: Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven
Verse 1:
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Evermore His praises sing:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King.
Verse 2:
Praise Him for His grace and favour
To His people in distress;
Praise Him still the same as ever,
Slow to chide, and swift to bless:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Glorious in His faithfulness.
Verse 3:
Father-like He tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Widely yet His mercy flows.
Verse 4:
Angels, help us to adore Him;
Ye behold Him face to face;
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace.
Open Heaven Devotional 4 November 2026 Commentary
Theme: The Burden Bearer calls you to purify yourself. Without holiness, no one can see God. Draw near to Him with a sincere heart, and He will cleanse you and reveal Himself to you.
Major Keywords: Purify yourself, holiness, vision of heaven, drawing near to God, clean heart.
Commentary Summary:
God Is Holy: Daddy’s vision of heaven showed him angels of indescribable appearance and a throne far away. When he looked at himself, he was naked and covered in filth. The angels moved away from him. His impurity prevented him from remaining in that holy place.
Without Holiness, No One Can See God: Hebrews 12:14 declares that without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. If you cannot see God, you cannot receive His good and perfect gifts (James 1:17).
Draw Near to Be Purified: You cannot purify yourself—only God can. James 4:8 says draw near to God, cleanse your hands, purify your hearts. Confess your sins. Cut off what defiles you. Seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).
Key Truth: A pure heart sees a good God. Holiness is not manufactured by effort—it is worked in you as you draw near to Him with a sincere heart.
Reference to Theme: This message, PURIFY YOURSELF, is a sobering call to holiness. Daddy’s vision illustrates that impurity separates us from God’s presence. But God invites you to come, confess, and be cleansed. Draw near to Him today.
Action Steps:
Examine Your Heart Daily: Ask God to search your heart (Psalm 139:23-24) and reveal any impurity or hidden sin. Confess it immediately.
Cut Off What Defiles You: Identify any habit, relationship, or entertainment that pulls you away from God and remove it this week.
Practice Drawing Near to God: Set aside time daily to seek God with all your heart—through prayer, worship, and the Word.
