The question is not whether prosperity exists in Scripture.
The question is how it is taught and lived.

Prosperity without integrity becomes manipulation.
But criticism without Scripture becomes prejudice.

“The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22)

True teaching on prosperity points people to God as source, to stewardship as responsibility, and to generosity as lifestyle.

Andreas Huebner addresses one of the most contentious subjects in contemporary Christianity: the teaching on prosperity. This is a topic that evokes strong reactions, with passionate advocates on one side and vehement critics on the other. Huebner navigates this sensitive terrain with wisdom, balance, and biblical fidelity.

His approach is neither defensive nor dismissive. He acknowledges that abuse exists: “And sometimes abuse does happen. It should be confronted and corrected.” This honesty lends credibility to his overall argument. He is not blind to the excesses and exploitation that have occurred in the name of prosperity teaching.

The Danger of Accusation Alone

Truth Must Not Be Abandoned

The concluding statement is powerful: “Truth must not be abandoned because some misuse it.” This applies not only to prosperity teaching but to every biblical doctrine. The existence of counterfeit currency does not mean we stop using money. The existence of false teachers does not mean we stop teaching. We confront the misuse while preserving the truth.

Father, I thank You that You are my source. Every good and perfect gift comes from You. I thank You that You have established principles of seedtime and harvest, giving and receiving, sowing and reaping.

Lord, I pray for wisdom to navigate this topic with balance and integrity. Protect me from manipulation on one hand and prejudice on the other. Help me to embrace the truth of Your Word fully and live it out faithfully.

Let my prosperity come from You and bring glory to You. Let my generosity reflect Your heart. Let my stewardship honor Your name.
