BASIC SCRIPTURE: DANIEL 12:1-10 (KJV)

1. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

4. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

5. Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7. And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9. And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

10. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, let Michael the great prince stand for me and for my household in the time of trouble. Let me be delivered because my name is written in the book.

2. Lord, I thank You for the hope of the resurrection — that many shall awake to everlasting life. Let me be among those who rise to life, not to shame.

3. Father, let me be counted among the wise who shine as the brightness of the firmament. Let me turn many to righteousness.

4. Lord, help me to run to and fro and increase in knowledge as the end times approach. Let me not be ignorant of Your purposes.

5. Father, though the words are sealed until the time of the end, open my understanding to know what You have revealed for this generation.

6. Lord, let me be purified, made white, and tried. Let every trial in my life purify me and make me ready for Your coming.

7. Father, I refuse to be numbered among the wicked who do wickedly and do not understand. Let me be among the wise who understand.

8. Lord, I wait for the time, times, and an half — for the end of all these wonders. Let me be found faithful when all is finished.

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that Michael the great prince stands for me. In the time of trouble, I shall be delivered because my name is written in the book.

2. I shall awake to everlasting life. I will not rise to shame and everlasting contempt.

3. I am wise. I shine as the brightness of the firmament. I turn many to righteousness and shall shine as the stars forever.

4. I run to and fro. Knowledge is increased in my life. I understand the times and the seasons.

5. Though the words are sealed, God has opened my understanding. I know His purposes for this generation.

6. I am purified, made white, and tried. Every trial works in me a greater purity and readiness.

7. I am not numbered among the wicked. I understand the things of God because I walk with Him.

8. I shall be found faithful at the end of all wonders. I wait for the coming of the Lord.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION

Key Verse: Daniel 12:3 — “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

The Time of Trouble (Verse 1):

Daniel speaks of a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation. This is the great tribulation — a period of unprecedented distress. But in that time, Michael the great prince will stand up for God’s people. And everyone whose name is written in the book will be delivered. The trouble will come, but deliverance will come too. Your name matters. If it is written in the book, you will be saved.

The Resurrection (Verse 2):

Many who sleep in the dust shall awake. Some to everlasting life. Some to shame and everlasting contempt. There is a resurrection coming. It is certain. It is universal. But the outcome is not the same for everyone. Some will rise to glory. Some will rise to shame. The difference is not luck. It is faith. It is obedience. It is being found in Christ.

The Wise Shall Shine (Verse 3):

Those who are wise will shine as the brightness of the firmament. They will be like stars — radiant, glorious, eternal. And those who turn many to righteousness will shine as the stars forever. Wisdom is not just knowledge. It is living in light of eternity. It is leading others to righteousness. It is investing your life in what lasts forever.

Shut Up the Words (Verse 4):

Daniel was told to shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Not everything was for Daniel’s generation. Some things were reserved for the future. In the end times, many will run to and fro, and knowledge will increase. There is a hastening of understanding in the last days. God is revealing what was once hidden.

The Question of Time (Verses 5-7):

Daniel heard the question: “How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?” The answer was given: “Time, times, and an half.” This is three and a half years. It points to the final period of tribulation. When the scattering of the holy people is accomplished, all these things will be finished. There is a set time. There is an end. God has appointed it.

Go Thy Way, Daniel (Verse 9):

Daniel was told, “Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.” He was not given all the answers. He was told to go on living. He was told to trust God with what he did not understand. Not everything is for you to know in this life. Some things are sealed until the end.

Purified, Made White, and Tried (Verse 10):

Many shall be purified, made white, and tried. Trials are not punishments. They are purifications. They remove impurities. They make you white. They prove your faith. The wicked will do wickedly. They will not understand. But the wise will understand. The difference is not intelligence. It is holiness.

Question for the Day:

Is your name written in the book? Are you living as one who will shine as the stars forever? And are you allowing the trials of this life to purify you, making you white and ready for the end?
