God is a very present help in trouble. When you are in trouble, He is there with you. He is not like some of our fire brigade teams… the house would have reduced to ashes before they show up. No! He is ever present and ever ready to move into action. He is never late. He is always right on time. I read about a soldier whose team was ambushed by enemy forces. Somehow all his team members managed to escape and he found himself alone, with the footsteps of the enemy getting closer and closer. He was in a cave and there was no escape route. He prayed quietly, “Lord, please, deliver me from this…” He did not know what to expect. Out of nowhere, a giant spider appeared and started spinning webs around the mouth of the cave. It kept on spinning until it almost covered the entire opening to the cave. The enemy troops searched all the caves in the vicinity and when they got to the cave where this man was hiding, they did not bother themselves. ‘Nobody has entered this cave in years…’ they thought. He was delivered! Listen: The heathen will rage. The kingdoms will be moved. Battles will be fought. Envious and jealous men will threaten. Businesses will collapse and crumble. All sorts of negative things will happen. But one thing is sure: a man that is rooted in the Lord will never be moved. God can never be moved by those evil things. The devil can never come up with a wicked device that will catch God by surprise. God will always be ready to stand up to His name and His calling. Trust in Him, take refuge in Him! HE IS AN EVER PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE! Hold on!
