Church and State – Part Two: Restoring the King-Priest Dominion Strategy
The historical compartmentalization of the Christian faith has long created an artificial divide between the spiritual altar and the secular marketplace. For generations, believers have been conditioned to view the priesthood as the sole custodian of divine purpose, while governance, economy, and statecraft are treated as inherently carnal secular pursuits.
However, a profound look at scripture reveals that God’s ultimate vehicle for societal transformation relies entirely on the unification of these two dimensions. The body of Christ is entering a strategic era where the separation of “Church” and “State” must be bridged—not through political manipulation, but through the emergence of mature believers operating under the ancient order of Melchizedek: the King-Priest dominion strategy.
The Dual Architecture of the Believer’s Call
To establish true dominion on Earth, believers must understand that the redemptive work of Christ did not merely save humanity from sin; it structurally re-engineered our functional identity. Revelation 5:10 explicitly outlines this dual mandate, stating that Christ has “made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
- The Mandate of the Priest: The priesthood represents the believer’s vertical alignment with God. It is the realm of the altar, intercession, spiritual intimacy, consecration, and the accurate discernment of the laws of the spirit. The priest secures the presence of God and establishes the spiritual atmosphere over a territory.
- The Mandate of the King: The king represents the believer’s horizontal alignment with the cosmos. It is the realm of the throne, legislation, execution, administration, governance, and structural influence. The king establishes the principles of God’s kingdom within formal laws, institutions, systems, and economic sectors.
Dominion remains fundamentally broken when these roles are isolated. A priest without the capacity of a king will possess tremendous spiritual authority but lack the systemic power to protect the vulnerable, shape policy, or influence culture. Conversely, a king without the alignment of a priest will wield immense systemic power but lack the spiritual discernment and moral anchor needed to resist corruption, ultimately building a Babylon rather than Zion.
The Order of Melchizedek: The Ultimate Prototype
Scripture provides a flawless prototype for this unified strategy in the mysterious figure of Melchizedek, who appears in Genesis 14 as both the “King of Salem” and the “Priest of the Most High God.” This dual office represents the highest manifestation of structural authority on earth.
When Abraham returned from the slaughter of the kings, he did not encounter an isolated spiritual mystic or a secular politician; he met a man who simultaneously commanded a physical territory and served as the custodian of an altar. Melchizedek brought forth bread and wine—a physical representation of political/economic sustenance and spiritual covenant—and blessed Abraham. In return, Abraham voluntarily surrendered a tenth of his spoils to him.
This encounter demonstrates that true systemic territory recognizes and bows to the King-Priest strategy. Jesus Christ did not come to perpetuate the Aaronic priesthood, which was strictly limited to temple duties and disconnected from political governance. Instead, Hebrews 6:20 declares that Jesus was made a high priest forever “after the order of Melchizedek.” As Christ’s representatives, the Church is called to step out of the isolation of the Aaronic paradigm and step into the comprehensive dominion of the Melchizedek order.
Dismantling the Marketplace-Altar Divide
The primary reason the contemporary Church continues to lose its grip on societal influence is the pervasive, subconscious belief that the marketplace is a secular distraction from spiritual devotion. Millions of believers operate under a fragmented identity: they are intensely spiritual on Sunday within the church walls, but completely secularized from Monday to Saturday within their corporate offices, government agencies, and businesses.
This artificial divide must be dismantled. The marketplace is not a carnal arena designed purely for financial survival; it is the primary battlefield for territorial dominion.
When a believer serves as a CEO, a magistrate, a policymaker, or a creative director, their office is not just a job—it is a functional pulpit. Their professional competence represents their kingly authority, while their internal devotion and moral incorruptibility represent their priestly altar. When the marketplace is approached as an extension of the altar, every policy written, business transaction executed, and system built becomes a legal enforcement of righteousness within the state.
The Four Pillars of Kingdom Advancement
Restoring the King-Priest strategy requires a practical, systematic approach to transforming the structures of human society. True dominion is built upon four foundational pillars:
1. Spiritual Vitality and Power
Everything begins at the altar. No believer can successfully legislate as a king in the marketplace if they have not first been broken and empowered as a priest in the secret place. The raw power of the Holy Spirit, radical intercession, and absolute consecration are non-negotiable tools required to break the territorial principalities holding demonic sway over sectors of governance and economy.
2. High-Level Mental Transformation
Spiritual zeal without systemic intelligence is a recipe for public embarrassment. To change the state, the Church must stop producing believers who are filled with the spirit but vacant of intellectual competence. True transformation requires an intensive renewal of the mind, mastering the modern mechanics of economics, law, technology, and organizational leadership, allowing believers to proffer superior, inspired solutions to complex national crises.
3. Exceptional Professional Competence
The secular world does not respect an individual simply because they are a Christian; the world bows to undeniable value and excellence. Like Daniel and the three Hebrew boys in Babylon, believers must be “ten times better” in their respective fields than their contemporaries. Excellence is the universal currency that buys a believer the right to be heard at the highest legislative tables of the state.
4. Strategic Institutional Positioning
Dominion is not a product of individual isolate success; it is a product of institutional capture. The Church must intentionally train, mentor, and deploy her finest minds into the strategic gatekeeping sectors of society—specifically government, media, education, and finance. True systemic change occurs when righteous King-Priests occupy the literal seats of legislative and administrative power, rewriting the foundational codes of the nation.
A Prophetic Call to the Emerging Army
We are transitioning out of an era where the church is defined merely by geographical buildings and massive weekly congregations. God is raising an army of believers who understand that the ultimate validation of their spiritual maturity is their ability to manifest the kingdom of God within the systems of the state.
Do not allow the spirit of fear or religious isolationism to keep you confined to the pews. If God has called you to business, master it with priestly devotion and kingly excellence. If He has called you to public governance, step into that corridor with uncompromised integrity and sharp administrative skill. Your professional sphere is your assigned territory of dominion. Rise up in your dual identity, build your personal altar, take your systematic throne, and let the righteousness of the Kingdom reshape the nations of the earth.
The Scriptural Basis of Spiritual Advancement
In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 3, verse 18, it says, “But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the spirit of God.” But we are going to gathering, Lord, let it show that I’ve been with you tonight.

The Decree of Fruitfulness and Moving Forward
In Genesis chapter 1, verse 11, it says, “And God said…” God seeing that the earth bore no fruit, and God wanted fruitfulness as a result, it says, “And God said let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth: and it was so.” God created us in his image and likeness, that’s why when we speak this night, it will be so.
Can you rise up on your feet? If you want to be fruitful, you must say it. It says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”
Scripture records that the man became very great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 18 says, “The path of the just is like a shining light, that shines brighter and brighter.”
You’re going to cry, “Father, in the name of Jesus, I advance in every area of my life.” Lift up your voice and cry, make sure you’re praying. Higher, higher! I advance, I advance, I advance, I advance! I am not static, I am dynamic by the spirit. I advance, I make progress, I make field strong. I advance by the decree of the spirit.
Spiritual principles have a way of replicating themselves, so you may hear a testimony that you can relate with right now—maybe a struggle you are personally and currently going through. As you listen to the testimonies, that same grace, that same power of God, that same light is made available tonight, and you also will come back to testify. How many people are returning with their testimonies? How many people are returning with their testimonies? If that’s you, can you shout hallelujah? Hallelujah, amen.
