PART TWO: COMMENTARY FOR NSPPD MEMBERS
Introduction: The Mercy of Reversal
Wednesday is Mercy Wednesday at NSPPD. It is not just another day of prayer; it is an encounter meeting – a day when heaven bends low to meet earth, when the mercy of God is released in unusual measures. Pastor Jerry Eze declares that Wednesdays are not to be taken casually. Come ready. Connect intentionally. When everything else fails, mercy never fails.
Today’s theme is reversal. The Lord reversed the captivity of Zion. What was taken is returned. What was lost is found. What was broken is mended. The enemy had his way for a season, but mercy stepped in and turned everything around.
The Scripture Foundation: Psalm 126:1-2
“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.”
This psalm celebrates the restoration of Israel from exile. The people had been captive, but God turned their captivity. The Hebrew word for “turned again” is shuwb, which means to return, restore, or reverse. It is the same word used when God promises to “restore the fortunes” of His people.
The result was so unexpected, so overwhelming, that the people felt like they were dreaming. They had hoped for restoration, but the reality exceeded their hopes. Their mouths were filled with laughter – not mocking laughter, but the laughter of joy. Their tongues were filled with singing – not just words, but songs of praise.
This is what mercy does. It reverses what the enemy intended. It turns mourning into laughter. It turns captivity into freedom.
The Eleven Mercies for Wednesday
1. MERCY For Reversal
This is the foundation. Mercy reverses the irreversible. What the enemy meant for evil, God turns for good. What was going down begins to go up.
2. MERCY That Wipes Bitter Tears
Bitter tears are the evidence of deep pain – loss, disappointment, betrayal, grief. Mercy wipes those tears away, not just drying them but addressing the source of the pain.
3. MERCY For Divine Transition
Transition is movement from one place to another. Mercy moves you from where you are to where you need to be – from struggle to strength, from delay to destiny, from the back to the front.
4. MERCY For An Evidence
Evidence is proof. Mercy does not leave you with only promises; it gives you something to show. Your testimony becomes visible, undeniable.
5. MERCY That Removes Evil Load
Evil loads are burdens placed on you by the enemy – curses, oppressions, generational weights. Mercy lifts them off. You are not meant to carry what the enemy has put on you.
6. MERCY That Breaks The Power Of Guilt
Guilt is a heavy burden. It keeps you in the past, reminds you of failures, and accuses you before God and man. Mercy breaks the power of guilt. You are forgiven. You are free.
7. MERCY For Celebration
Celebration is the expression of joy. Mercy does not just solve problems; it gives you reason to celebrate. Your mouth is filled with laughter. Your tongue is filled with singing.
8. MERCY For Access
Access means entry. Mercy opens doors that were closed. Mercy grants entrance to places you could not go on your own – to the presence of God, to divine opportunities, to destiny helpers.
9. MERCY To Open Every Door
Doors represent opportunities, breakthroughs, and new seasons. Mercy opens them – not some, but every door that needs to open for your destiny to be fulfilled.
10. MERCY For Divine Acceleration
Acceleration is speed. Mercy compresses time. What should take years happens in days. What should take months happens in weeks. You are not moving slowly; you are accelerating.
11. MERCY For Total Turnaround
Turnaround is complete reversal. Not partial, not temporary, but total. Every area of your life that has been stuck, delayed, or defeated is turned around.
PART THREE: PROPHETIC INSTRUCTIONS EXPANDED
1. Bring Your Mantle to Wednesday Mercy-Encounter
Your mantle represents your covering, your authority, your inheritance. Bring it to the altar. Lay hands on it. Let it receive the mercy and fire of this encounter.
2. 10 Minutes Prophetic Dance – Dancing on the List of Negativity
This is a prophetic act of victory. Write down every negative report, every burden, every challenge. Place the list on the floor. Dance on it for 10 minutes. This is not entertainment; it is spiritual warfare. Your dance declares that what is written has no power over you.
3. Bring Every Negative Report to the Altar of Mercy
What negative reports are you carrying? Medical reports, financial reports, academic reports, relational reports. Bring them to the altar. Lay them down. Let mercy speak over them.
4. Make A List Of The Things You Want God To Reverse – REVERSAL NOTE
Write down specifically what you want God to reverse. Be detailed. Be specific. This list is your prayer guide and your testimony record.
5. You cannot afford to be alone
Bring your friends and family. Share the prayers. Let them dance on their own lists of negativity.

I thank You that when everything else fails, mercy never fails. I thank You that You have reversed my captivity, and I am like them that dream. My mouth is filled with laughter. My tongue is filled with singing.
