TOPIC FOR TODAYS ODM: LESSONS FROM THE GAIT OF JAPANESE CHILDREN!

A gait is a person’s manner of walking. A study which was recently published in the journal, “Scientific Reports,” found that the gait (walking) patterns among Japanese children aged 6-12 years vary from those of children in other developed countries. Scientists from Nogoya University in Japan did a study on age-related variations in lower limb movements while walking. The scientists concluded the research with a belief that understanding walking patterns may be significantly beneficial in determining an individual’s health and quality of life. The co-author of the study, Ito Tadashi, from the Department of Integrated Health Sciences, believes that patterns in lifestyle, build and cultural factors affect Japanese children’s gait. And it does indicate characteristics different from those of children in other countries. There are important spiritual lessons that can be drawn from this study.The walk (conduct) of those who believe in Christ must be different from that of persons who are yet to do so. Several scriptures allude to this. Verse 6 of 1 John 1 says if you fellowship with Christ and still walk in darkness, you are a liar. Conversely, Romans 13:13 tells us how to walk (conduct ourselves): “Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.” How are you walking?If you were to be arrested for believing in Christ, will there be enough evidence to convict you?How do you conduct yourself at home, in the neighbourhood, workplace, church and other places you visit/have interactions with people? Is your conduct reflective of the life of Christ? Verse 6 of 1 John 2 says, “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.” Remember: SIN FASCINATES BEFORE IT ASSASSINATES! If you are not yet walking like one who knows Christ, you can make amends this year! The Lord will help you to SHAKE AWAY every trace of worldliness in you and that weakness will be blotted out by the Blood of the Lamb! LIVE RIGHT! BE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR!
