Our Daily Manna 28 September 2023 – THE CHANGE OF RIVERS – HOPE!
The word , “HOPE” would mean more than a million dollars to a man on death row in a prison cell. But we begin this day with a joyful poetic irony in the book of Lamentations.
No, we shall not lament in crisis this year but it is a school for us all. The name of the book does not describe the message today, which is, “Hope in a hopeless generation.” Consider this as a care note from a beloved friend:
“It is of the Lord’s mercies, You are not consumed,because
His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is your portion… Therefore will you hope in Him.
For the Lord will not cast off forever. You must wait for His Salvation…
Nothing above suggests fear, but HOPE, HOPE and HOPE! So as you travel through this journey of life, keep HOPE alive; no matter how dark the tunnel looks. Weeping may endure for a season but joy cometh in the morning.
Your morning shall come – NO MATTER WHAT YOU GO THROUGH THIS YEAR! Yea! I see you coming out of every painful season into your MORNING SEASON! They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy (Psalm 126:5).
Remember that you are no longer by the rivers of ancient Babylon (Psalm 137). There is now an INNER RIVER IN YOU (see John 7: 38 now)! It is called, “THE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER!”It is your source of laughter instead of lamentation! Yes! The RIVERS HAVE CHANGED!
The Lord shall turn your captivity again and laughter shall be your portion. A man called Tom Stoppard summarises it thus: “Every exit is an entry to somewhere else.”
Forget the losses of the past! It’s not over, till it is over! Wait and I say again, hope in the Lord. 2023 is your year!

1. Make a list of seemingly hopeless and painful situations around your life at present.
2. Laugh at each item on the list throughout today and put the devil to shame. Forgive anyone that has hurt you.
