Verse 12 of today’s scripture says: “The angel of the Lord said unto him (Gideon), ‘… Thou mighty man of valour.” Amazing! Here was a man who was hiding from the Midianites in fear. Yet, God refused to call him, “Thou mighty coward of Israel.” That’s what I would have called him. But God called him, “Thou mighty man of valour.” You must realize that every person in this world whom you meet daily is hungry for recognition, self-esteem, companionship, love, understanding, e.t.c. It is said that Napoleon Bonaparte, the great and successful war General, knew every officer of his army by name. He would ask about a soldier’s family, hometown, moods, problems, etc, and the soldiers were amazed at his knowledge of deep personal matters that concerned them. That is a quality of any man/woman that desires to shine and lead in life and ministry this year! BE CONCERNED ABOUT OTHERS! No wonder men were prepared to lay even their lives down for Napoleon. You can be greater and better. Value Has Value Only When It Is Valued! Learn that there is hardly a higher compliment you can pay an individual than to help that person to be useful, to find satisfaction and significance. Hear this: “If CARE was a stock, being offered on the market, it would be a wise commodity to invest in at this time on the planet. Care will soon be on the rise because everything else has been tried” (Doc Childre). Indeed, “no one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care” (Don Swartz). Stop running down your wife, husband, children, colleagues, staff, etc. Please be an expert this year in the art of making people feel great and important!
