Welcome to today’s devotion! It was Colleen O’Connor who penned: “The successful apology dissolves anger and humiliation. A sincere apology makes it much easier to forgive.” Then author, Barbara Engel, asserts that a true apology depends on the three “Rs”: Regret, Responsibility, and Remedy! In today’s story about the prodigal son, he returned home after squandering his inheritance and approached his father with humility and remorse. Yes, he took responsibility for his actions. Vs. 21 of today’s scripture says: “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and I am no more worthy to be called thy son.” He expressed regret for the pain he had caused, took responsibility for what he had done, and was prepared to work as a hired servant! Oh! That’s what the devil wants when he tempts you through sin. SATAN IS JEALOUS THAT YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD! He wants you to live like a HIRED SERVANT! Resist him! Refuse to be a PRODIGAL SON OR DAUGHTER! Live holy! Forgive people! Always say to God, “I’m sorry” whenever you fall short of His will or wrong others! BUT DON’T DELIBERATELY LIVE IN SIN!
