TOPIC: THE SHIELD OF THE ROMAN SOLDIERS!
CLICK TO READ BASIC SCRIPTURE 8th OCTOBER 2026 BIBLE READING
It was Sinca Ruth who cried, “The devil does not need to attack your body, your finances, or your family first, he goes straight for your faith!” Yes! Your faith is everything! It is your visa to God and it is your shield against enemies! If the enemy can puncture your faith, he does not need to fight your health, your marriage, or your destiny because the job would already have been done! No wonder Ephesians 6:16 declares, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Hallelujah! When the Roman soldiers fought in wars, their defence and victory usually depended on their formation, where they locked their shields together to make strong walls and even a roof to block arrows and stones. If just one soldier lowered his shield or became afraid for a second, it made a small hole. That small hole let enemy arrows or soldiers come in, hurt people, cause fear to spread, made the hole bigger, and broke the whole group apart! Then the strong Roman army could turn into confused people running away, and the whole team or even the army could lose the battle because of that one mistake! Apostle Paul tells the Romans to take the shield of faith, wherewith they would be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked! No matter the level of WICKEDNESS around you, your FAITH is enough to QUENCH their arrows of depression or delay, etc. NEVER GIVE UP ON JEHOVAH GOD! That is why Jesus told Peter in Luke 22:31–32, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith fail not.” Did you catch that? Jesus did not say, “I prayed that you won’t be attacked.” He said, “I prayed that your faith will not fail.” Because if faith stands, you stand! If faith holds, you win! Determine to stand in courage and faith! You will win!
