Basic Scripture : ISAIAH 4: 1-6; NAHUM 1: 7-11
A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school. Following the roar of thunder, lightning like a flaming sword would cut through the sky. Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child’s school. As she did so, she saw her little girl walking along, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up and smile. Lightning and thunder followed each other in quick succession, but with each one, the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.
When the mother’s car drove up beside the child, she lowered the window and called to her: “What are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?” The child answered, “I am trying to look pretty, God keeps taking my picture.” She saw deliverance in the danger! She turned her FRIGHT to her FLOWERS and her FEAR to her FAME! She saw inspiration instead of frustration! She saw beauty instead of the beast! She turned the terrible storm around her into a photo-session in God’s dark room!

Oh! Maybe she knew Nahum 1: 7 – “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.” And maybe also she knew Isaiah 6 – “And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.” Always remember: God is taking your picture and turning that pain to gain!
No pain is a waste! It will produce glory to God at last! Fear not! LOOK UP! Trust Him!
