The story of Abraham Lincoln is a confirmation of the agelong saying that thoughts are things! His greatness and success can be traced to just three words, which his dying mother dropped on him from her deathbed. The words were: “Be somebody, Abe.” These words fired this young man through the harsh realities of this wicked world, till he became the 16th president of the United States of America. In fact, in American history, he is one of the most remembered and most respected till date! In this New Year 2026, you must understand that your thoughts become words, which become actions! No matter what has happened in the past, determine to aggressively change your thought/word vocabulary! Ralph Emerson said, “A man is what he thinks about all day long.” That is why it is crucial that you use the Gems For Success pages (72 &73) of this booklet twice daily! Don’t forget that words were what created this planet! It was the Word that became flesh (John l: 14)! It was a word, “Come” that kept Peter afloat in the storm! It was words spoken by Goliath that paralyzed Saul and the Jewish army (1 Samuel 17:11). It was the word of the 10 spies that buried millions in the wilderness (Numbers 13:3; 33-34)! You must never forget that words cursed a tree (Mark 11:14-23)! Let your thoughts, words, manners, dressing and everything you do this year speak achievement! Speak great things and regularly dwell on positive thoughts! Avoid letters, books, newspapers, pictures or people, etc, that create bad feelings in you or remind you of your past! Be proud of yourself! Congratulate yourself and reject self-pity/depression! Choose your words daily! Remember Abraham Lincoln’s mother!
