In 2014, Andreas Biermann, the German player for Union Berlin, died by suicide after a long, public battle with depression, having written a book to help others facing the same illness. He wrote a book against suicide, but he became a victim also! Then Gary Speed of Wales/Newcastle United, the former Welsh international midfielder and manager, died by suicide in November 2011, shocking the global football community! I remember Robert Enke (Germany/Hannover 96); he was the German national team and Bundesliga goalkeeper! He died by suicide in November 2009 after a long, private battle with severe depression! Don’t forget Justin Fashanu, the first openly gay professional English footballer! He died by suicide in May 1998 amidst intense external pressure and legal controversies! Wow! Agostino Di Bartolomei of Italy/ Roma, the former AS Roma captain, suffered from clinical depression and died by suicide in May 1994, exactly ten years after playing in the European Cup final. Oh! What a world! So, in life, there is no battle-free age group, nation, profession, colour, tribe, sex, etc. Obstacles and trials are inevitable to all! The purest ore is produced from the hottest furnace and problems are the price of progress!You must always remember that, “GOLIATH BUS-STOP” is a compulsory pathway to your Promised Land! Yes, the sons of Anak (giants and difficulties) are signposts just before your land of decoration. That is why no matter how 2026 has been, you must not murmur, die or quit! Every Problem Has A Solution And Has An Expiry Date! That’s why I always say at the Manna Mountain: “Give Your Problem Headache But Deny It Of Panadol.” That means, never bow to a problem! It will bow at last if you hold on and hold out! Pray now!
