Vs. 7 of our 1st basic scripture says, “And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up…” But before then, Elijah had water; fresh, sweet water from the brook Cherith. God sent ravens to feed him. Everything looked good, until it wasn’t. Someone is asking, “Wasn’t it God who sent him there? So why did the provision run out?” Sometimes, God allows the brook to dry up, so you don’t camp at yesterday’s miracle. God did not forget Elijah; instead, He was preparing the next phase – “Arise, get thee to Zarephath… I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee” (vs. 9). God’s provision is never stuck in one place! God has a million ways to help you and that is why YOU WILL NEVER END IN SHAME! Elijah’s dried-up brook wasn’t a crisis; it was a divine promotion! The ravens at Cherith were training wheels; the widow of Zarephath was his destiny assignment. Many believers panic when their familiar streams vanish: the job, the relationship, the comfort zone, etc. God has not forgotten you neither is He punishing you! Rather, He is pushing you into purpose (1 Kings 17:9). The brook may dry up, but your God never runs dry! Do not get stuck crying over your dried brook that you forget that the God that provided it before, can do it again! In this last quarter of 2025, close with Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
