Commentary

This is your Mercy-Wednesday – a day when you stand before God, not as a perfect person, but as a green olive tree planted in the house of the Lord, trusting in His mercy forever. The Psalmist declared: “I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.”

A green olive tree is a symbol of vitality, fruitfulness, and longevity. It is not a dry, dead, or uprooted tree. It is planted, watered, and flourishing. That is who you are. That is what mercy does. Mercy keeps you green. Mercy keeps you fruitful. Mercy keeps you standing when others are falling.

The Prayer of the Green Olive Tree:

• “EL-ROI, I am Your green olive tree.” – I am planted in Your house. I am alive. I am flourishing. I am not uprooted by the wind of adversity.
• “Make me fruitful.” – Not just green – fruitful. Let my life produce results. Let my labour produce harvest. Let my prayers produce answers.
• “Make my family bountifully blessed.” – Not just me – my entire household. Bless my children, my spouse, my parents, my siblings. Let my family be a tree of blessing.
• “Please cause fresh oil to come out of this battle.” – Every battle, every struggle, every difficulty – let it produce oil. Let me not go through trouble without a testimony. Let fresh oil – new anointing, new grace, new provision – flow from this situation.
• “Abba, whatever You are doing tomorrow, Mercy-Wednesday, please remember me.” – Whatever God is doing for others, let Him do for you. Whatever He is releasing, let Him release for you. Whatever He is establishing, let Him establish for you.
• “Please make me number one!” – Not in pride – in divine preference. Not to boast – to testify. Let me be first in line for the blessing. Let me be the one who receives the testimony that silences the enemy.

Prayer 14: Father, I receive mercy that stops every hand of evil. Every hand raised to harm me – stop it. Every plot against me – paralyse it. Every conspiracy – scatter it. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 15: Father, I receive mercy that brings a total turnaround. Turn around my health – from sickness to wholeness. Turn around my finances – from poverty to prosperity. Turn around my marriage – from struggle to peace. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 16: Father, I bring my mantle to Your altar. Impart fresh mercy into my mantle. Let my mantle carry the fragrance of Your favour. Let my mantle open doors wherever I go. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 17: Father, I bring every negative report to the altar of mercy. (Name your negative reports). I lay them at Your feet. Mercy, exchange these reports for testimonies. Let new reports be written. In Jesus’ name.
