TOPIC: YOU ARE NOT WHO YOU USED TO BE!
A certain man in the Bible was hiding, trembling, reduced and defeated. His name was Gideon. When the angel of the Lord appeared to him, he did not meet a warrior on a battlefield. No! He met a fearful man hiding in a winepress, trying to survive oppression (Judges 6:11). But then came a shocking declaration from heaven: “The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour!” Gideon immediately fired back, “My family is the poorest. I am the least in my father’s house” (Judges 6:15). In other words, “You must have made a mistake choosing the wrong person!” The “Chimera” in him was talking! A contradiction between how Gideon saw himself and how heaven defined him! One man but two identities! Heaven calls you, “mighty,” but you call yourself, “weak.” Heaven says, “chosen,” but you say, “unqualified.” Heaven says, “victorious,” but you are confessing defeat! Wow! God did not speak to Gideon based on his condition; He spoke based on his identity! Before Gideon ever picked up a sword, before he defeated Midian, before he gathered an army, heaven had already labeled him: “MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR!” Hear me: Your identity is not a product of your circumstances; it is a product of God’s declaration! The devil wants you to keep identifying with your past, your failures, your fears, your delays, your limitations, etc. He wants you hiding in the winepress when you should be confronting Midian! Gideon was living below his spiritual DNA! He carried the identity of a deliverer but lived like a victim! But the moment he aligned with God’s voice, everything changed! Close with Friedrich Nietzsche: “Become who you are.” I see a BIGGER YOU and an UNSTOPPABLE YOU! You are moving from VALLEY to VALOUR in Jesus name! Pray seriously now!
