TOPIC: WHY HE LOST HIS JOB DUE TO INGRATITUDE! – 1
A CEO increased his staff salary from $500 to $1000 without notifying him. The first month passed, but not a word of thanks. The second month again he received his salary with the same one hundred percent increase, but he did not come to say at least a thank you. So, the boss, now feeling unappreciated for his, “kind gestures,” decided to revert to the salary the staff had been receiving, as no other staff had enjoyed such a privilege of 100% increase. Then, once the staff received his former salary, he went straight to the CEO, and told him what had happened.Ah! The CEO then asked him if he ever came to say thank you when he had received the increase, to which he responded, “NO.” Then the boss told him, “I considered your plight and decided to increase your salary; a gesture I did not show to anyone else. But not a single word of gratitude came from you! If you still want to remain in this company, return every penny that had been added as increment to your salary.” Oh, what an amazing world! Yes! What a terrible ending for ingratitude! Marcus Tulius said, “Feeling grateful and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” Then Steve Maraboli penned, “A sense of entitlement is a cancerous thought process that is void of gratitude and can be deadly to our relationships” Wow! Listen: There is no small or big thank you! It is even better to say a small “thank you” than no thanks at all. Today’s scripture says we should give thanks ALWAYS! When you appreciate people for even the smallest good they do for you, you are opening a window for more. People likewise take the grace of God for granted. They forget what God has done, and remember what He has not done. No matter the matter, be grateful always and put the devil to shame because: INGRATES ARE NEVER GREAT!
