Frederick Douglas was an ex-slave who became one of America’s greatest statesmen by continually facing struggle after struggle and winning battle after battle. He wrote a general letter to all who wish to succeed in life: “There is no progress without a struggle! Those are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. Who profess to favour freedom and yet depreciate agitation! They want rain without thunder and lightning! They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters! The struggle may be a moral one or a physical one, but it must be a struggle! Men may not get all they pray for in this world but they certainly pay for all that they get. We must do this by labour, by suffering, by sacrifice and if need be by our lives!” Wow! God is speaking to you again about the power of commitment in 2026! Determine to hold on to your life/family/ministry goals even when obstacles show up! Never forget that no matter how much you have prayed, obstacles will show up because NO CROSS, NO CROWN! But never also forget that everything good in history has always been born out of a struggle! Yes, just as Nido Qubein said, “Assurance grows out of adversity and struggle.” So never grow weary as you pursue your life’s dreams! Victor Hugo counselled his younger cousin thus, “Many great actions are performed in minor struggles.” Dear child of God, be determined to win daily this year despite the giants on your way. Paul said, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed.” Make that your daily motto! It has been the secret of achievers, in all generations!
