BASIC SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 4:6-18

Basic Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:6-18 (King James Version)

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Prayer Points and Declarations

1. The Light of God’s Glory Shining in My Heart

• Scripture Ref: v. 6

• Prayer Point: Father, as You commanded light to shine out of darkness, shine in my heart today. Drive out every shadow of doubt, fear, and confusion. Fill me with the light of the knowledge of Your glory revealed in Jesus Christ.

• Declaration: God has shined in my heart! The light of His glory fills me. I walk in revelation knowledge of who He is. Darkness cannot overcome me because the Light of the world dwells in me .

2. Treasure in Earthen Vessels

• Scripture Ref: v. 7

• Prayer Point: Lord, thank You for choosing to place Your glorious treasure in this frail, human vessel. Let every weakness in my flesh become a platform for Your power to be displayed. I humble myself so that Your excellency may be seen.

• Declaration: I am an earthen vessel carrying heavenly treasure. My weaknesses do not disqualify me; they showcase God’s power. The excellency of the power in me is of God, not of myself .

3. Troubled Yet Not Distressed

• Scripture Ref: v. 8

• Prayer Point: Father, when troubles come on every side, guard my heart from distress. Give me peace that surpasses understanding, even in the midst of chaos.

• Declaration: I may be troubled on every side, but I am not distressed! The peace of God keeps my heart and mind. No storm can steal my calm, for my anchor holds in Jesus .

4. Perplexed Yet Not in Despair

• Scripture Ref: v. 8

• Prayer Point: Lord, when I don’t understand what is happening or which way to turn, keep me from despair. Let hope rise even when answers are not clear.

• Declaration: I may be perplexed, but I am not in despair! I do not need all the answers; I only need the One who is the Answer. My hope does not depend on understanding .

5. Persecuted Yet Not Forsaken

• Scripture Ref: v. 9

• Prayer Point: Father, when I face opposition or rejection for Your name’s sake, let me feel Your presence more strongly. Remind me that I am never alone.

• Declaration: I am persecuted, but I am not forsaken! God has not abandoned me. When men reject me, He receives me. When the world turns against me, Heaven stands with me .

6. Cast Down Yet Not Destroyed

• Scripture Ref: v. 9

• Prayer Point: Lord, when life knocks me down, lift me up. Let every fall be followed by a resurrection. I will not stay down, for Your hand is upon me to restore.

• Declaration: I may be cast down, but I am not destroyed! I fall seven times, but I rise again. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me .

7. The Life of Jesus Manifested in My Body

• Scripture Ref: v. 10-11

• Prayer Point: Father, let the dying of Jesus be at work in me so that the life of Jesus may be clearly seen through my mortal flesh. Use my trials as opportunities for Your resurrection power to shine.

• Declaration: The life of Jesus is made manifest in my body! Even in weakness, His strength is perfected. Even in suffering, His life flows through me. I am a walking testimony of His resurrection power .

8. The Spirit of Faith: Believing and Speaking

• Scripture Ref: v. 13

• Prayer Point: Lord, give me the same spirit of faith that David had—faith that believes and therefore speaks. Let my mouth confess Your promises regardless of what my circumstances say.

• Declaration: I have the spirit of faith! I believe, and therefore I speak. My words align with God’s Word. I call forth what He has promised, and I will not be silent .

9. Knowing the Resurrection Promise

• Scripture Ref: v. 14

• Prayer Point: Father, anchor my hope in the certainty of resurrection. The same God who raised Jesus will raise me—from every dead situation, from every setback, and ultimately from this mortal life.

• Declaration: He who raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise me up also! No death—physical, emotional, or circumstantial—has the final word. Resurrection is coming .

10. Fainting Not

• Scripture Ref: v. 16

• Prayer Point: Lord, when weariness sets in, renew my strength. I choose not to faint. When the outward man is wasting away, let the inward man be refreshed and renewed daily.

• Declaration: I faint not! Though my outward man perishes, my inward man is renewed day by day. Fresh strength comes to me every morning. I will finish my race with joy .

11. Light Affliction Working Eternal Glory

• Scripture Ref: v. 17

• Prayer Point: Father, change my perspective on my trials. Help me to see every affliction as light and momentary compared to the eternal weight of glory it is working for me.

• Declaration: My afflictions are light and momentary! They are not wasted. Every trial is working for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. I will not despise the process .

12. Looking at the Unseen

• Scripture Ref: v. 18

• Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, fix my eyes on the unseen. Let me not be consumed by the temporary things I can see—circumstances, symptoms, bills, obstacles. Train my gaze on the eternal realities of God’s kingdom.

• Declaration: I look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen! The seen is temporary; the unseen is eternal. My focus is fixed on heaven’s perspective, not earth’s problems .
