TOPIC: THE SWELLING OF JORDAN!

The Lord, in Jeremiah 12:5(Amplified)rebukes Jeremiah’s impatience saying, “If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses? And if (you take to flight) in a land of peace where you feel secure, then what will you do (when you tread the tangled maze of jungle haunted by lions) in the swelling and flooding of the Jordan?” The swelling of Jordan stands for the season of harvest during which the River Jordan overflows its banks! It was a deadly season because even lions hover around the banks then in search of food! Amazingly, it was during this season that God asked the Jews to cross the Jordan (Josh 3: 15). God did not ask the people to cross during the season when the Jordan was quiet! It was during the swelling of Jordan – a season characterised by strong waves and turbulence! Likewise, most of the promotions that will be allowed to come your pathway will be during your battle seasons! You cannot conquer Jericho without crossing your Jordan but you are not allowed to cross your Jordan during your bread and butter season! You can only cross Jordan during your season of bitter vinegar! Oh, what a God as our Commander-in-Chief! Does He take pleasure in seeing His children suffer? No! No! No! But Acts 14:22 says: “Confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” Did you get that? We MUST through Much Tribulation enter into the kingdom! You must through much tribulation enter into your next level in life and ministry! That’s why they crossed the Jordan at its most deadly season and that’s why you must not grow bitter in your trials! Maya Angelou wrote: “Someone was hurt before you; wronged before you; beaten before you; humiliated before you; raped before you; yet, someone SURVIVED.” Yes, determine that you will not faint during the swellings of your Jordan! Always remember: YOUR BEST DAYS ARE STILL AHEAD BECAUSE YOU WILL RUN WITH HORSES! Hold on and hold out!
