PART TWO: SERMON EXTRACT – THE TEACHING
Introduction: Understanding Miracle Encounters
Apostle Joshua Selman opened the service by establishing that miracles are not random acts of God but are released in response to faith, obedience, and divine alignment. He emphasized that the believer’s posture determines the measure of manifestation they experience.
Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
He taught that the foundation of every miracle is the believer’s position in Christ. When you are in Christ, you are positioned for supernatural intervention. The old limitations, old patterns, and old struggles are meant to pass away.
1. The Nature of Divine Acceleration
Apostle Selman declared that God is in the business of compressing time. What should take years can happen in days. He referenced the declaration released during the service: “This week, may God compress the achievements of the last three years and place the worth of it upon your life.”
This is not about shortcuts but about divine timing. God can accelerate processes that would naturally take extended periods because He is not bound by time. When He decides to move, He moves suddenly.
Scripture Reference: Isaiah 60:22 – “I the Lord will hasten it in his time.”
2. The Mark of Grace
Apostle Selman declared: “This week, I place a mark of grace upon you.”
He explained that a mark distinguishes, identifies, and protects. In Scripture, marks were placed on individuals for various purposes—the mark of Cain (Genesis 4:15) was for protection; the mark of the redeemed (Revelation 7:3) identifies those sealed by God.
The mark of grace means:
– Distinction – You are set apart from the crowd
– Identification – Heaven recognizes you as one favoured
– Protection – You are covered by divine favour
He referenced Psalm 5:12: “For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
3. The Blessed Life
“This week, you are blessed in the city and outside the city.”
Apostle Selman taught that blessing is not location-dependent. Whether in the city (commerce, opportunity, activity) or outside the city (rest, quiet, retreat), the blessed are blessed everywhere. This echoes Deuteronomy 28:3: “Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.”
He emphasized that the blessing of God is not seasonal or circumstantial. It is a state of being that travels with you.
4. Light and Destiny
Apostle Selman delivered one of the most powerful declarations of the night:
“Everything that represents darkness, shame, reproach, and backwardness, the same way the devil did not stop your phone light from shining, he will not stop your destiny from shining!”
He used the analogy of a phone light to illustrate a profound spiritual truth. Your phone light shines regardless of opposition. It does not negotiate with darkness; it simply illuminates. In the same way, your destiny is designed to shine regardless of what stands against it.
He taught that light has certain characteristics:
– Light does not ask permission to shine – It simply shines
– Light cannot be stopped by darkness – Darkness has no capacity to resist light
– Light reveals what is hidden – It exposes and illuminates
Scripture Reference: John 1:5 – “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
5. Reversal of Fortunes
“When others say there is a casting down, because you have the light, you will say there is a lifting up.”
Apostle Selman declared that while the world may be experiencing decline, the believer who carries light will experience elevation. This is the principle of divine reversal. What the enemy meant for evil, God turns for good.
He referenced Proverbs 24:16: “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.” The pattern is not falling but rising. The final word is not casting down but lifting up.
6. Recovery of Missing Things
“Everything missing in your life, between now and next month, you will find it.”
This declaration set a specific timeframe—between March 29th and the end of April 2026. Apostle Selman taught that God is a restorer of lost things. What has been stolen, hidden, or delayed will be recovered.
He referenced Joel 2:25: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.” Restoration is not just about return; it is about redemption of lost time and opportunity.
7. Season of Visibility
“Step into your season of visibility.”
Apostle Selman taught that many believers have been in seasons of hiddenness—preparation, pruning, waiting. But the season of visibility has come. This is the time to be seen, to be recognized, to be positioned.
He referenced Matthew 5:14-15: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.”
Hiddenness is preparation; visibility is manifestation.
8. Divine Connections
“Everyone who has been looking for you, may they find you, and may you find them.”
Apostle Selman declared that the people meant to help you, support you, and elevate you will locate you. And you will locate them. This is divine networking—connections orchestrated by God for the fulfillment of destiny.
He referenced Ruth 2:3: “And her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz.” What seemed like chance was divine appointment.
9. Season of Ease
“Everything hard for you, by the power of Christ’s light, step into a season of ease.”
Apostle Selman taught that difficulty is not permanent. There is a season when what was hard becomes easy—not by the removal of work, but by the addition of favour, wisdom, and power.
He referenced Matthew 11:30: “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” The yoke of Christ is not burdensome; it is easy when we walk in alignment with Him.
PART THREE: THE INVITATION TO SALVATION
Following the teaching, Apostle Selman extended an invitation to those who desired to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. He declared:
“Jesus Christ is inviting you into a new life. If you desire forgiveness, peace and a fresh start, respond in faith. Tonight can be the beginning of a new walk with Him.”
He led those responding in a prayer of salvation and assured them of their new identity in Christ based on 2 Corinthians 5:17.
