Ways To Be Grateful No Matter What

9 Mistakes to Avoid in Your Relationship – ODMDaily

  1. Expecting perfection.
We are all human. We all make mistakes. Do not hold your significant other to some unrealistically high expectation. This is especially hard for those of us who hold unrealistically high expectations for ourselves.

  2. Not taking differences in core values seriously.
Even though you like the same music and enjoy spending time with one another, you will still have a hard time getting past major differences. Core values include things like religion, morality, and the importance of things like family, friends, careers and money. Take some time to discuss these things before you move your relationship forward or you might be in for disappointment later.

  3. Trying to control our significant other. 9 Mistakes to Avoid in Your Relationship – ODMDaily
Many of us either have control issues or things that the other person does that drive us crazy. Both of these scenarios can lead to us wanting to control or comment on every move the other person makes. Think about it though, would you like someone telling you what to do every waking minute? You are not this person’s parent. If he/she is a grown adult, treat them like one. “ODM Devotional Booklet 7th October 2020 – TOPIC: A BOX OF BISCUITS SAVED HIS MOTHER – 1

  4. Not taking time for yourself and being too co-dependent.
If you spend every waking moment with your significant other, you will ultimately lose who you are as an individual. Things like going to the store on your own will be hard and you will find yourself consulting that person for every small decision you make. Take some time to do what you love. Have your own hobbies, interests and friends. You will both benefit from this and have a Richer life as a result.

9 Mistakes to Avoid in Your Relationship.

  1. Forgetting to appreciate your partner.
never forget to tell your significant other, “thank you” or “I love you.” At the beginning of the relationship you surely noticed all of the kind things that he/she was doing for you and praised him/her accordingly. You said you loved each other all of the time. Sometimes we forget how awesome the other person is until we think about it. Tell your significant other right now how you feel about them.

  2. Blame.
Blaming your partner is so common in relationships that it should be highlighted with asterisks next to it. Blame comes from fear. Fear of what? Of shame, or appearing weak. When we blame our partner for something, we take on the position of “I told you so” and “Therefore I’m better than you”.

MANNA DAILY UPDATES & IMPORTANT PRAOGRAMMES 2020

It’s an addictive position of power that creates distance and dissonance. Looking back now, blaming each other was an easy out, so we didn’t have to include ourselves in the solution when something went wrong. Until we understood that a relationship was a team, and the phrase “when one of us fails, we all fail” is truer. Even though I’d like to believe, we couldn’t rise above old arguments like we do now. When you let go of blame and realize it gets you nowhere, you’ll find much more freedom and safety within your relationship.

  1. Holding Grudges

Grudges come in many forms. They creep up and sometimes pop out, even when you’re joking. Holding grudges signifies you aren’t willing to move on and enjoy the present state of things. If there hasn’t been progress or proof of a better relationship between partners, a big part of that reason is that one of you is still living in the past. 9 Mistakes to Avoid in Your Relationship. 9 Mistakes to Avoid in Your Relationship – ODMDaily

  1. Feeling hopeless.
Apart from individual challenges that your partner may be confronting, couples also face their own sets of difficulties. The list of possible reasons to feel hopeless can range from someone’s infidelity, differences in personalities, lifestyles, and values, or just simple misunderstandings that mushroom into out-and-out warfare. If you allow yourself to give up on the situation, you’ll be far less likely to put the emotional investment into the steps you’ll need to follow for relationship repair.

People develop hopelessness toward their relationship through a set of cognitive distortions, such as believing what’s bad now will always be bad, that life “should” be worry-free, and that minor disagreements reflect basic underlying flaws in the couple’s prospects for true intimacy. Catch yourself before these cognitive distortions take hold, and you’ll be more likely to focus on what’s good rather than bad about your relationship.

9.Not talking about money.

Money is always a tricky subject. You might have come from different backgrounds. If one person grew up wanting for nothing and the other has always had to pinch pennies, there may be some disagreements over how money is spent. If you are in a serious relationship, even if you have separate money, be sure to discuss this things as money issues are guaranteed to come up eventually.

  1. Dr. Chris! Good night. I am part of a group called J&F (Jackson and Friends) and we have promised to subscribe to the Manna Air Brigade. On several occasions, I have tried to send a donation but was turned back by the Chase Bank because the number was incorrect. However, the number I used was the number listed in last and this quarter ODM’s. The clerk at the bank on Tuesday when I decided to try again was willing to go into the system and give me the correct account number. I just wanted you to know because maybe others are also having the same difficulty I experienced. Here is the correct number (132533301) which US $70.00 was sent to on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. This is the number in the book (1325333301) which is incorrect. May God continue to bless you for all that you do.

  2. Dear Dr. Chris:
I have a testimony which I would like to share with you and all ODM users. I am a part of the J&F group that donates to the Manna Air Brigade and the air conditioning units. After going through the devotion on October 9th, 2020 with our group and as we mulled over the lesson…they shall not take my honey I made a request for the group to pray about monies US$9 million for the years 2009 & 2010; that were owing for work done by the teachers in NYC. The teachers were promised that they would receive this money on October 15th. Yesterday, October 8th, 2020 the Mayor announced that the City did not have that money to pay. This caused outrage and the president of the Union went before the arbitration Board about it. Praise be to God at about 5pm that evening it was announced that we would get a half of the money this October 15th and the other half in July 2021. Praise be to God for answering another of my prayers provoked by the reading of the Scripture and Devotional reading. To God be all the Glory! Thank you Dr. Chris for your faithfulness. May God continue to bless and keep you, your family and the ODM helpers all over the world. Our God is an Awesome God!
