Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is one of the largest, fast food the world, it employs more than 450,000 people and generates more than 9 billion dollars in sales annually. However, this success story could not have been if not for the dogged determination of a broke 65-year-old man called Harland Sanders. Growing up, Colonel Sanders (as he is popularly known) sharpened his cooking skills. He had a service station where he was always cooking for travellers. However, at around age 60, he was forced to shut down his business and go into retirement because a new highway was being built where his restaurant was located. By age 64 he was broke, he owned a small house and an old worn out car. He resolved to make a change and started traveling around the United states selling his special fried chicken idea. He got rejection upon rejection, but he refused to give up. He was knocked down, turned down and humiliated, but he was not knocked out. His friends told him to give up! But he stayed persistent to his dream and plan. Do you know that I nearly stopped this ODM vision this year due to the abnormal high cost of printing paper? So we decided on a price increase and I held on! KFC has become the giant that it is today because Colonel Sanders decided to hold on! In this last quarter of the year 2022, never forget that: DETERMINATION ALWAYS WINS. No wonder Calvin Coolidge said, “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, ‘press on’ has solved, and always will solve, the problems of the human race.” No matter how 2022 has been, refuse to give up trusting God! Be like the woman in today’s devotional scripture! Be determined! Refuse to be discouraged! Stay in the fight until you win because whether the devil likes it or not, this will be your best quarter ever in Jesus name! Pray now and give out an ODM copy to help others.
