Oh, welcome to today’s devotional! I remember Chip Brogden’s clip, “Blessings alone do not open our eyes. Indeed, blessings by themselves tend to close our eyes. We do not come to know Him in the blessing, but in the breaking.” That was the summary of the life of Moses and my life years ago! Moses made an effort to deliver Israel 40 years ahead of God! He could not have been used because he was not broken! “God’s Generals” are not made in human palaces, but in divine deserts where all they eat for breakfast is loneliness and their dinners are served with depression, mockery, delay, sprinkled with rejection and tears! I too could not have been used because I could not spell the words “PAIN,” “SUFFERING” and “TEARS.” That was why my trial led me to attempt suicide because, I thought God’s allowed deserts were His cemeteries! But when I remember that this ODM vision was revealed to me on the day when I wanted to die, then I can indeed declare like my elder brother king David: “It is good for me that I have been afflicted…” (Psalm 119:71). Indeed, we do not come to know Him in the blessing, but in the breaking! That is why you must not quit now! Let my story encourage you! If I that forgot to barb my hair for one year can be used to write and bless you today; if, despite all the current raging battles of various enemies this vision is waxing stronger, then God will do much more for you in 2026! You cannot be used greatly by God as a life-healing agent if you have not been bruised (see Hebrews 2: 10)!
