Welcome to today’s devotional! There’s a story of an eccentric old man who carried an oil can with him everywhere he went. If he passed through a squeaky door or a stiff gate, he applied oil to the hinges. His practice of lubricating made life easier for those who followed after him. Did you get that? The eccentric old man carried a can of oil wherever he went. Then note the words: “HIS PRACTICE OF LUBRICATING MADE LIFE EASIER FOR THOSE WHO FOLLOWED AFTER HIM.” Wow! That means through his life, value was added to other people. His life gave value and meaning to others through his can of oil. And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that, there is an oil in you which was put there by the Holy Spirit. Yes! That oil is the oil of the Holy Spirit which can be expressed through you in different ways in order to add value to those around you. That means nothing is permitted to be stiff, hard or squeaky around you. That Means You Are An Answer To Someone’s Questions On This Planet! You Were Created To Be A Solution To Someone’s Battles! When people are battered and shattered by situations and circumstances of life, your oil should lubricate their hearts and restore hope to them. In this 2nd half of the year 2023, let God use you to lubricate the problems and battles of others in the Spirit of Christ, and not to add to their pain. As you go out today/daily, always remember that some people you meet carry unbearable burdens and long for the oil of a sympathetic word/action. There is a can of oil in your hands; go and use it this year! MAKE EVERYONE YOU MEET TO SMILE DAILY! Peace!
