Every parent’s dream is to see their children succeed but it is quite unfortunate that some children die before fulfilling their destiny. Manna Devotional 11 November 2022 – UMA UKPAI: DONT GET ATTACHED TO PEOPLE/THINGS!
However, Dr. Uma Ukpai, a great man of God in my country, told the story of how his children died in a motor
accident. He said that the car drove off the road and into the river on the day his children died.
In an attempt to save children, he dived into the river. His wife likewise dived into the river, where she was carried and thrown up six times by the
the current. It wasn’t until the seventh time that it was brought to his attention. He turned around and swam with one hand while carrying her with the other. He left her at the bank and went to get the kids. They hadn’t passed away.
He then put the kids in the car to pray for them, but an oncoming vehicle slammed into the car from the opposite direction. Shockingly, he revealed that the next morning, he still went to preach and people asked him: “What would you preach?” He told them the same old message because that accident couldn’t change anything in his mind. He said that many had no child/ children; you can’t buy a child from any market, so it’s only God that gives.
He said that they had been traveling on that same road for years; the driver had been his driver all those years. So if God over those years had protected them and then lowered the hedge, why would he protest? Wow! We have a natural tendency to place everything in our lives on a value scale but get this from the Holy Ghost now: All you have are not your own! Don’t get attached to people or things!
Today’s scripture says in Verses 19 & 21: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth.. for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Love people or things but don’t be hurt by them! LET THE LORD BE YOUR TREASURE OF TREASURES! This November is my Birthday month; your eleven miracle is my Birthday gift.
