Welcome to today’s devotional! On February 9, 1964, the Beatles (The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960) appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and captivated the youths of America.
Many young people in America began to grow their hair just to look like the Beatles. The Beatles’ performance had such an incredible impact on the average American youth that they intentionally tried to be like them! In fact, they were regarded as the most influential band of all time and were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music’s recognition as an art form.
Wow! This was a significant introduction to the power of influence! Today, the world is
celebrating influencers! Governments, political parties, corporate bodies, advertising agencies, marketing organizations, etc, are all clamouring for influencers as that industry is fast growing.
But the Holy Ghost is asking you today: “What is influencing you?” “Who is your influencer?” Do you know you are an influencer?” Yes! You are a city set on the top of a hill–THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD and the SALT of the EARTH! In a world of social media, influencers and celebrities, let your influence come from God’s Word and let God’s Word turn you into an influencer!
LET MEN SEE YOUR LIFESTYLE AND WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS! Let Jesus be your MODEL/INFLUENCER. Determine to think, live and talk like Him! Do not allow the world and her tendencies to influence you negatively. Someone asked: “I am a fool for Christ… whose fool are you?” Think!
