The Fundamental Shift in Mindset
Andreas Huebner delivers a powerful prophetic word that challenges the dominant narrative about money. In a world where money is often portrayed as the ultimate goal, the source of security, and the measure of success, this message repositions money where it belongs—under your feet, not over your head.
“Money is not a master. It is a servant.”
This statement echoes the words of Jesus: “No one can serve two masters… You cannot serve God and money” (Matthew 6:24). When money becomes a master, it demands worship. It dictates decisions. The Foundation: Deuteronomy 8:18
Huebner anchors this teaching in Deuteronomy 8:18: “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”
This verse reveals three critical truths:
First, the Source is God. Wealth does not ultimately come from your job, your business, your investments, or your inheritance. These are channels, but the Source is God. When you remember this, you remain grateful rather than greedy, generous rather than grasping.
Second, God gives power. The Hebrew word for “power” here is koach, which means strength, ability, capacity. God gives you the capacity to create wealth. This includes mental capacity (wisdom, ideas, strategies), physical capacity (strength, health, energy), and spiritual capacity (favour, divine connections, supernatural provision).
Third, wealth is for getting, not hoarding. The verse says “power to get wealth,” not “power to keep wealth.” Money is designed to move, to flow, to be deployed. When it stagnates, it loses its purpose.
Power Precedes Provision
One of the most profound statements in this teaching is: “Power precedes provision.”
Before the provision manifests, the power must be operational. This power includes:
- Ordered Mind – When your thinking is clear, aligned with God’s Word, and free from confusion, money orders itself around that clarity.
- Aligned Heart – When your affections are set on things above, not on earthly treasures, your heart attracts resources rather than repelling them.
- Disciplined Decisions – When your choices are consistent, wise, and governed by the Spirit, increase responds to that discipline.

This is a revolutionary concept. You do not need to chase money. You need to order your mind. The chaos in your finances often reflects the chaos in your thinking. When your thoughts align with God’s thoughts, your resources align with God’s provision.
Money Flows Toward Clarity
“Money flows toward clarity. It gathers around wisdom.”
Clarity is magnetic. When you know what you are called to do, when you have a clear vision, when your goals are defined and your strategies are sound, money is drawn to you. Investors invest in clarity. Opportunities attach themselves to clarity. Resources gather around clarity.
Wisdom is the currency of the kingdom. Proverbs teaches that wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her (Proverbs 3:15). When you pursue wisdom, you attract everything else. When you pursue money directly, you often end up with neither.
You Are Not Chasing; You Are Directing
“You are not chasing it. You are directing it.”
This shifts your identity from beggar to steward, from pursuer to commander. You do not run after money like a desperate suitor. You stand in your God-given authority and direct money to fulfil its assigned purpose.
This does not mean passivity. Directing requires intention. It requires wisdom. It requires action. But it does not require anxiety. You are not hoping money will show up; you are commanding it to align with your purpose.

Declare this now:
MONEY SERVES MY PURPOSE!
Not:
– I serve money’s purpose
– Money serves the world’s purpose
– Money serves the enemy’s purpose
But: MONEY SERVES MY PURPOSE!
And what is your purpose? To glorify God, to advance His kingdom, to bless His people, to fulfil your calling. Money is a tool for these ends, not the end itself.
