Commentary

Today, Wednesday 27th May 2026, is the last Wednesday of mercy for May. Pastor Jerry Eze declares that mercy is not just a gentle concept – it is a forceful change agent. “What can mercy not change?” Nothing. No situation is too stubborn for mercy. No diagnosis is too final for mercy. No delay is too long for mercy. Mercy changes what justice would condemn, what time would bury, what men would write off.

“There is no justice without mercy.” If God judged us strictly by justice, none would stand. But mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). Mercy is not God overlooking sin – it is God providing a solution through Christ so that justice is satisfied and mercy is released. Today, you are not standing before a throne of judgment – you are standing before a throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and from that throne, mercy flows.

The anchor scripture is Psalm 86:16-17, David’s desperate cry: “O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me… Shew me a token for good.” David was not demanding – he was pleading. But he was also confident: mercy would bring a token (a sign) of good, and his enemies would see it and be ashamed. Mercy does not hide – it manifests publicly. When mercy shows up, your haters will see, and they will know that God has helped you.

The ten mercies declared for today cover every emergency:

• Mercy for Completion – You will not leave things unfinished. Your degree, your project, your healing, your restoration – completed.
• Mercy for Perfection – Not just done – done well. Not just healed – whole.
• Mercy that wipes bitter tears – The tears of betrayal, loss, disappointment – wiped. You will laugh again.
• Mercy for The New – New job, new home, new marriage, new level, new name.
• Mercy over your family – Your children, spouse, parents, siblings – covered by divine compassion.
• Mercy for Direction – When you don’t know which way to turn, mercy will guide.
• Mercy for Enlargement – Your small capacity will become large. Your narrow boundaries will be stretched.
• Mercy for the hand of the Lord – God’s hand of power will rest upon you – for miracles, for provision, for protection.
• Mercy for a higher grace – Grace to overcome, to excel, to stand where you could not stand before.
• Mercy because your case is an emergency – God is not slow. He is responding with urgency.

The prophetic instructions are clear: write down 7 areas of mercy – seven is the number of completion. Write them specifically. Then bring every negative report – not hiding it, not pretending it doesn’t exist, but bringing it to the altar where mercy exchanges it for a testimony. And don’t come alone – mercy is for families, for friends, for entire households.

Declare with desperation but also with confidence: “OH LORD, PLEASE SHOW ME MERCY THIS MAY. LET THE NEW BEGIN IN MY LIFE.” The old season of struggle is ending. The new season, powered by mercy, is beginning.
