BASIC SCRIPTURE: JUDGES 4: 1-24
Tuesday April 17, 2018 was just like any other day in the life of many Americans. One of the airlines in America, Southwest Airlines, got busy with its scheduled flights for the day. Its Boeing 737-700 filled some 143 passengers with 5 crew members on board for a flight from La Guardia Local Airport in New York to Dallas, Texas.

But around 11.20am as the plane flew near Philadelphia, there was a loud explosion in the left engine. Alas, the left engine of Flight 1380 had exploded in mid-air at an altitude of 32,000 feet. A piece of shrapnel from the exploded engine blew out a window causing the cabin to depressurize. Oxygen masks dropped; one of the passengers, a woman, was already being sucked out of the window of the plane until some of the passengers grabbed her and pulled her back into the plane. Some of the passengers called their loved ones to wish them goodbye because they thought the end for them had come.
In the midst of the confusion and panic, the pilot, Tammie Jo Shults, a 56 year-old woman kept her cool and brought Flight 1380 down for an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport. At the end of the day, 7 people were treated for injuries and only one person (the woman who was pulled back into the plane) died. She broke records as a navy pilot! She was said to have landed her fighter plane on boats at 150 miles per hour and eventually became an instructor.
