THE PILOT OF ALL PILOTS – 2
BASIC SCRIPTURE: DANIEL 3: 22 – 30
22 Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

One of the hallmarks of an excellent pilot is the ability to make storms and cloudy weather work to his/her advantage! God is never moved by adversities; He just takes advantage of them! His perspective is far different from ours.

In Isaiah 55:9, He said, “…as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” God looks at your situation with an eagle eye. He sees the end from the beginning. He knows far more about the problem than you think you know. Much more, He knows exactly what to do to turn that problem into a stepping stone into your place of glory and JUBILEE. When the three Hebrew children refused to bow down to the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar, they knew that the Pilot of all pilots was in charge of their lives. They were confident in His never-failing ability to see them through that trying time. Oh They told the king (PARAPHRASED), “if you care to know, this is our resolution; we will not bow down to your golden image. Even if you pardon us this time around and give us another opportunity, we will still not bow down…” Wow! Nebuchadnezzar was infuriated. He ordered for the furnace to be heated over and over again, so much so that the people who heated the furnace died. The three Hebrew children were thrown into the furnace to die… but they did not die. The Bible says that the fire could not consume them. Right in the midst of that fire, the Pilot of all pilots (THE 4TH MAN) showed up. Yes! The unseen Hand that keeps the people of God showed up and kept His people from the fire. The only things that got burnt were the ropes and chains that were used to tie them up. The deliverance was so great that the great men of Babylon gathered around to behold these miracle boys. Verse 27 says that the fire had no power over the bodies of these young men. At the end of it all, the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. That which was meant to destroy the people of God became a stepping stone in the hands of God to lift His people to a higher realm of authority.
