BASIC SCRIPTURES: GENESIS 37:5-28;

⁵ And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

⁶ And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:

⁷ For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

⁸ And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

⁹ And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

¹⁰ And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

¹¹ And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

¹² And his brethren went to feed their father’s flock in Shechem.

¹³ And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I.

¹⁴ And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

¹⁵ And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?

¹⁶ And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.

¹⁷ And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.

¹⁸ And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.

¹⁹ And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.

²⁰ Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.

²¹ And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.

²² And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again. ODM Devotional 23 January 2021

²³ And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;

²⁴ And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

²⁵ And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.

²⁶ And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?

²⁷ Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.

²⁸ Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt. ODM Devotional 23 January 2021

JUDGES 11:1-11

1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.

² And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.

³ Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.

⁴ And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.

⁵ And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:

⁶ And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.

⁷ And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father’s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?

⁸ And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

⁹ And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, shall I be your head?

¹⁰ And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.

¹¹ Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the Lord in Mizpeh. ODM Devotional 23 January 2021

Welcome to today’s devotional encounter with the God who is called THE GOD OF THE J’!S! The God or the J’S is used to describe the God of Biblical characters or patriarchs of the Bible whose names begin with “J.” Examples are the LORD Jesus, Jephthah, Joseph, Jacob, Jabez and Job; all passed through various battles, challenges and difficult times in their pilgrimage here on earth. THE LORD Jesus was betrayed by His right hand man, Judas Iscariot, and those He loved rejected Him. He later died a shameful death when He was hung on a tree like a robber. But glory be to God; on the third day, He rose again triumphantly. Jephthah was also betrayed, rejected and ostracised by his step-brothers and he wandered into a strange land. But he came back to become the Judge of Israel. Wow! HOW GOD WILL REWARD YOU OPENLY THIS YEAR WILL SHOCK YOU! Shout 21 loud “halleluiahs” now! Likewise, Joseph was hated, envied, betrayed and sold as a slave to Egypt; they vowed that his dream would not come true, yet he became their RULER! This year, your life will disappoint your adversaries! Oh! Jacob also went through pain as he battled his way to fulfill his destiny. Jabez had a noble and honorable destiny, which would have been aborted due to the circumstances of his birth. But he prayed his way into dignity and the God of Abraham heard his prayers and enlarged his coast. Every great destiny goes through the fire of life. Little wonder, Job cried out: “..but He knows the way that I take, and when He has used me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that the God of the “J’S” is your God and He will NOT allow any battle to consume you this year. Catch this: “You are Unstoppable!” Nobody, I mean, no man holds the star of your destiny Only one Man does and His name is “THE STAR OF DAVID.” Trust THE STAR OF DAVID in every battle of 2021 and He will shine OPENLY on you! Sow your OPEN-REWARD or “I AM UNSTOPPABLE SEED, and pray the PROPHETIC PRAYER PSALMS that will be sent to you, then determine to finish this fast!
