Welcome! A couple’s wedding ceremony, slated to hold at a popular church in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, was cancelled months ago. The church cancelled the wedding following the refusal of the bride to abide by the church’s pre-marital procedure. A report by the Daily Post revealed that the bride refused to spend the night at the parsonage of the church where she was supposed to have been counselled by the wife of the officiating priest on the eve of the wedding. It was also gathered that in accordance with the church’s tradition, a pregnancy test was to be conducted on her before the wedding. The bride, it was alleged, was properly informed that the process would be observed before the wedding, to which she agreed. But she did not show up on the eve of her wedding. Her action prompted the church authority to cancel the wedding. Guests had already assembled for the event when the announcement was made. It was not confirmed if the bride and her husband-to-be had procured the services of another pastor to join them together in another church. But questions like, “what may have gone wrong?” “Could she have been pregnant already?” etc, were asked by many attendees who left in disappointment! Only God and the couple knows! Ah!
