TOPIC: RESIGN FROM THE EXCUSE GENERATION!

Vs. 8 of today’s Word says: “But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, ‘Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand.” What if Joseph had succumbed to the advances of Potiphar’s wife? Imagine how he could have justified his sin – “But LORD, You don’t want me to be unhappy and You know how lonely it is here. Besides, I think I really love her.” The question is, what would you have done in such a situation? It could apply to men and women! Joseph had every excuse at his disposal to obey Mrs. Potiphar! His master, Mr. Potiphar, wouldn’t have known. His master’s wife would have engineered his constant promotion and given him all he wanted. The problem of this generation is that, we look at the immediate gratification of things and not the future consequences of our present actions! I call this generation – “A GENERATION OF EXCUSES!” What if Abram had disobeyed when God told him to leave his land of birth to a strange land? (Genesis 12:1). What if he had said, “But God, I’m established here. I can’t afford to risk everything in an uncertain future. I’ve got to watch out for Sarai also.” Refuse EXCUSES IN THIS 2ND HALF OF 2026! Hear Jonathan Swift: “An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded.” Wow! I remember George Washington: “It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.” Then take a sip from the wisdom wine of Florence Nightingale: “Be bigger than your excuses. I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took any excuse.” Yes! Give no excuses, FLEE FROM EVIL/SIN! Then close with this anonymous: “Excuses are the tools of the incompetent; they build monuments of nothingness, and those who specialize in using them seldom amount to anything.” Don’t be in that group!
