TOPIC: THE OSTRICH: MY HEAD CANNOT BE BURIED IN SHAME! -2

Welcome! From yesterday’s devotional, be reminded that Burying Your Head in the Sand is an idiom for refusing to confront, acknowledge, or deal with unpleasant realities, problems, or facts! In today’s scripture, Prophet Nathan did not allow King David to forget, cover up or deny his sins of adultery and murder! It took the bravery of the prophet to confront king David about his errors! Verses 12 says: “For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.” Vs. 13: “And David said unto Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the LORD.’ And Nathan said unto David, ‘The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.” The devil wanted David to bury his head in the sand by denying the facts of his sin and coming up with blame games. But David refused to bury his head in the sand! He acknowledged his mistakes and owned up to his misdeeds. Denying the facts doesn’t change the truth! As you journey through life, and indeed in this Christian race, always keep an open mind. Yes, accept your wrongs when things happen and be willing to always be the first person to apologise to God or to man. But Galatians 6:1 says: “If a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.” Albert Lee wrote: “You are not to go looking for sin in the lives of other believers, of course. But neither should you bury your head in the sand when it needs to be confronted.” Live like Prophet Nathan! Avoid church or family politics! Confront sin in humility! Start with yourself!

   disgrace me; let it scatter and backfire now!
