TOPIC: WHEN I FORGOT THE HAIR ON MY HEAD! -1
Thank God I was 50 years in the LORD on February 3rd this year! I became Born Again in February 3rd 1976 at about 9.30 pm. Oh! Amazing grace in this 50-year journey with the LORD I LOVE! Sometimes we wonder why God allows losses, pain and suffering into our lives despite our faithfulness to Him. My strong compassion today for HURTING SOULS, is not because I read Pharmacy! No! No!! No!!! My passion for the hurting, the depressed, “the failures,” and those in the battle front of life’s battles is because my Father God has allowed me to taste pain, rejection, shame, desertion, suffering, false accusations, loneliness, abandonment, betrayal, lack, etc. Do you know that there was a season in my life when I forgot to barb my hair for a whole year? The hair grew so “bushy” because of life’s battles and I forgot the hair on my head! Do you know that even in the city of Lagos, there was a season when we could not afford kerosene and we had to beg carpenters to give us sawdust to cook? When the sawdust was no more available, I started sending a boy named Eric, living with me, to go into nearby bushes to cut firewood. I could not even afford to buy firewood and I could not spell the word, “GAS.” There was a season when this same Eric had to fish at a nearby stream before we could eat because I could not afford to buy fish! Oh, the 7 dark years of my life! My story then was an IRONY because in this same city, I had loaned money to needy friends and paid school fees for families who could not afford it! Listen: The reason God allows suffering and pain is to create in you an uncommon heart of humility, compassion and passion for others (vs. 17 of today’s scripture about Christ)! He tasted pain to enable Him understand your pain! Suffering is the preparatory school of God’s battle axes!Oh, listen: You cannot be used greatly by God as a life-healing agent if you have not been bruised! So, don’t jump out of the boat! Don’t put on your life jacket yet because dry bones shall live again! Pray now! Our Daily Manna today ODM 24th April 2026
