PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON THE HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE

Introduction: The First Friday of April

Every first Friday of the month, the Redeemed Christian Church of God gathers at the Redemption Camp for the Holy Ghost Service, a night of worship, prayer, teaching, and Holy Communion. This April edition holds special significance as it falls during the Easter season, reminding us of the sacrifice and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Holy Communion is not merely a ritual; it is a spiritual encounter. It is a time when believers come to the table of the Lord to remember His death, proclaim His resurrection, and receive healing, deliverance, and breakthrough.

The Significance of Holy Communion

1. A Memorial of His Sacrifice

Jesus instituted the communion at the Last Supper, saying, “This do in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19). The bread represents His body broken for us; the cup represents His blood shed for the remission of sins. When we partake, we proclaim His death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:26).

2. A Time of Healing and Deliverance

Many testimonies have emerged from Holy Communion services. The Bible says, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come” (1 Corinthians 11:26). It is a time when physical and spiritual healing is released.

3. A Covenant Renewal

Communion is a covenant meal. It renews our relationship with God and reminds us of our identity in Christ. It is a time to examine ourselves, repent of sin, and recommit to walking in holiness.

What to Expect

• Worship – Powerful praise and worship led by the RCCG mass choir.
• Prayer – Intercessory prayers for individuals, families, and nations.
• Teaching – Exposition of the Word on the meaning and power of communion.
• Holy Communion – Partaking of the bread and cup in faith.
• Ministration – Prayer for healing, deliverance, and breakthrough.

The Call to Prepare

Before coming to the Holy Communion service, believers are encouraged to:

• Examine themselves – Confess any known sin and seek forgiveness (1 Corinthians 11:28).
• Come with expectation – Believe that God will meet you at the point of your need.
• Invite others – Bring someone who needs an encounter with Jesus.

PART THREE: DECLARATIONS FOR THE HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE

I DECLARE that as I partake of the bread, I receive healing in my body!

I DECLARE that as I drink of the cup, I receive the forgiveness of my sins!

I DECLARE that the blood of Jesus speaks better things over my life!

I DECLARE that every curse is broken by the blood of Jesus!

I DECLARE that every yoke is destroyed by the power of communion!

I DECLARE that I am reminded of His sacrifice, and I am grateful!

I DECLARE that I proclaim His death until He comes!

I DECLARE that this communion service is my appointed time of breakthrough!

PART FOUR: PRAYER FOR THE HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE

Father, I thank You for the Holy Communion. I thank You for the body of Jesus broken for me and the blood of Jesus shed for me.

As I partake today, let every sickness in my body be healed. Let every sin be forgiven. Let every chain be broken.

I remember Your sacrifice, and I am grateful. I proclaim Your death, and I receive Your life.

In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
