BASIC SCRIPTURE: THURSDAY, 1ST OCTOBER 2026 — ROMANS 6:11-18 (KJV)
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

PRAYER POINTS — THURSDAY, 1ST OCTOBER 2026
Father, I reckon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Lord, let not sin reign in my mortal body. Let me not obey it in the lusts thereof.
Father, I yield my members as instruments of righteousness unto God, not as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin.
Lord, I thank You that sin shall not have dominion over me, for I am not under the law but under grace.
Father, I refuse to sin because I am under grace. God forbid that I should use grace as a license to sin.
Lord, I yield myself as a servant of obedience unto righteousness. I am not a servant of sin.
Father, I thank You that I have been made free from sin and have become a servant of righteousness.
Lord, let me be led by the Spirit of God, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
DECLARATIONS — THURSDAY, 1ST OCTOBER 2026
I declare that I am dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Jesus Christ my Lord.

Reckon Yourselves Dead to Sin (Romans 6:11):
Paul gives a command. Reckon. Count. Consider. Believe. This is an act of faith. You are to reckon yourself dead to sin. Not feel dead. Not become dead. Reckon it. It is already true. Christ died for sin. You died with Him. Christ rose from the dead. You rose with Him. Your old life is dead. Your new life is alive. Reckon it. Believe it. Live it.
Let Not Sin Reign (Romans 6:12):
Sin is a tyrant. It wants to reign. It wants to rule. It wants to dominate. It wants to control. But you do not have to let it. You have a choice. You have authority. You have power. Do not let sin reign in your mortal body. Do not obey its lusts. Do not yield to its demands. You are no longer its slave. You are free.
Yield Your Members to God (Romans 6:13):
Your body has members. Your eyes. Your ears. Your mouth. Your hands. Your feet. Your mind. Your heart. You can yield them to sin or to God. You can use them as instruments of unrighteousness or instruments of righteousness. Choose God. Yield to Him. Present your body as a living sacrifice. Use your members for His glory.
Not Under Law But Under Grace (Romans 6:14):
The law could not save. It could only condemn. It could only reveal sin. It could only bring death. But grace saves. Grace forgives. Grace empowers. Grace transforms. You are not under the law. You are under grace. Sin shall not have dominion over you. Grace is greater than sin. Grace is stronger than sin. Grace breaks the power of sin.
Shall We Sin Because We Are Under Grace? (Romans 6:15):
Paul asks a question. If we are under grace, should we sin? God forbid. Absolutely not. Grace is not a license to sin. Grace is power to overcome sin. Grace does not excuse sin. Grace delivers from sin. Do not abuse grace. Do not presume upon grace. Do not trample on grace. Grace is precious. Grace is holy. Grace is transforming.
Servants of Obedience (Romans 6:16-18):
You are a servant of whom you obey. If you obey sin, you are a servant of sin. If you obey God, you are a servant of righteousness. You were once a servant of sin. But now you have obeyed from the heart. You have been made free from sin. You have become a servant of righteousness. This is your new identity. This is your new position. This is your new life.
Led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14):
As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. The Spirit leads. The Spirit guides. The Spirit directs. The Spirit speaks. The Spirit moves. Those who follow the Spirit are the sons of God. They are not led by the flesh. They are not led by the world. They are not led by sin. They are led by the Spirit.
The Spirit of Adoption (Romans 8:15):
You have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear. You are not a slave. You are not in chains. You are not in fear. You have received the Spirit of adoption. You are a child of God. You are adopted into His family. You are loved. You are accepted. You are welcomed. And you can cry, “Abba, Father.” Abba is intimate. Abba is personal. Abba is close. You have a relationship with God. He is not just a distant deity. He is your Father.
The Witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16):
The Spirit bears witness with our spirit. He confirms it. He assures it. He testifies to it. We are the children of God. We are not just servants. We are not just followers. We are not just believers. We are children. We are sons. We are daughters. We are family. We are loved. We are accepted. We are His.
Heirs of God (Romans 8:17):
If we are children, then we are heirs. Heirs of God. Joint-heirs with Christ. We share in His inheritance. We share in His glory. We share in His kingdom. We share in His blessing. But there is a condition. If we suffer with Him, we will be glorified with Him. Suffering is part of the journey. But glory is the destination. The suffering is temporary. The glory is eternal. The suffering is light. The glory is weighty. Do not be discouraged by the suffering. Look forward to the glory.
Question for the Day — Thursday, 1st October 2026:
Are you reckoning yourself dead to sin and alive to God? Is sin reigning in your mortal body? Are you yielding your members to God as instruments of righteousness? Are you led by the Spirit of God? And do you know that you are a child of God, an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ?
