BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 7: 1-6

Basic Scripture: Matthew 7:1-6 (NIV)

1. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

2. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4. How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5. You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

6. Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

Prayer Points:

1. Against Hypocritical Judgment:

   • Lord, forgive me for every instance where I have judged others harshly while excusing my own faults. Create in me a heart of grace and self-awareness.

   • Holy Spirit, help me to be swift to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry or judgmental (James 1:19).

2. For Self-Examination and Purity:

   • Father, shine Your light into my heart. Reveal to me the “planks” in my own eye—my hidden faults, pride, and areas of disobedience. Give me the courage and humility to deal with them first.

   • I receive the grace for true repentance. Cleanse me and make me whole, so I may see clearly to be a true help to others.

3. For a Measured and Merciful Heart:

   • Lord, teach me to use the “measure” of mercy and forgiveness toward others, knowing that the same measure will be used for me. Let my default posture be one of compassion, not condemnation.

   • Help me to correct and counsel others from a place of love, humility, and restored relationship, not from a spirit of superiority.

4. For Divine Wisdom and Discernment:

   • Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom of verse 6. Teach me to discern between those who are receptive to truth and those who are hostile to it.

   • Give me the discretion to know when to speak, when to be silent, when to share the sacred truths of Your kingdom, and when to withdraw. Protect me and the pearls of Your word from being trampled.

5. For Healthy Relationships:

   • Lord, apply this truth to all my relationships—family, church, work, and community. Let me be an instrument of peace, restoration, and clarity, not of division and harsh judgment.

   • Guide me into relationships that are mutually edifying, where correction is given and received in love.

Declarations:

1. I declare today that I will not be a hypocritical judge. I choose to look at myself through the lens of God’s holiness and at others through the lens of God’s grace.

2. I declare that the Spirit of God is exposing every “plank” in my life, and I have the grace to remove it. My spiritual vision is becoming clear.

3. I declare that I will use the measure of mercy, and therefore, I receive mercy. I use the measure of forgiveness, and therefore, I walk in forgiveness.

4. I declare that God is giving me supernatural discernment. I will not cast my pearls before swine nor give what is holy to dogs. I walk in godly wisdom and divine timing in all my conversations.

5. I declare that my words to others will be helpful, healing, and timely—spoken from a pure heart and heard with clarity. I am a vessel of restoration, not condemnation.

6. I declare that as I live by the principles of Jesus’ teaching, I am walking in the freedom of self-awareness and the protection of divine wisdom. My relationships are governed by love and truth.
