BASIC SCRIPTURE: PSALM 67: 1-7

1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Daily Bible reading

Many Christians follow a daily Bible reading plan as a way to study and reflect on the Bible. There are a number of different plans available, and each one is structured differently. Some plans focus on reading through the entire Bible in a year, while others focus on reading specific books or passages. Some common Bible reading plans include:

  • The One Year Bible: This plan divides the Bible into 365 readings, with each day’s reading consisting of a passage from the Old Testament, the New Testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb.
  • The M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan: This plan was developed by a 19th century minister named Robert Murray M’Cheyne. It involves reading four passages of scripture each day, with the goal of reading through the entire Bible in one year.
  • The Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan: This plan is based on the idea of reading through the Bible in chronological order. Each day, you will read a passage from the Old Testament, a Psalm, and a passage from the New Testament.
  • The Chronological Bible Reading Plan: This plan is similar to the Discipleship Journal plan but it follow the order of events.

I recommend trying different plans and see which one works best for you. Many websites and apps offer these plan, many of them are free, and make it easy to follow along with daily readings. Also consider it could be helpful to read with a group or a partner, to keep each other accountable, discuss and reflect on what you’ve read
