DCLM Daily Manna Thursday May 28th 2026 Behold Heaven’s Concert

On 13th November, 2021, El Sistema, a National Institution of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, earned a place in the Guinness World Records as the largest orchestra ever. The symphony orchestra consisted of 8,573 musicians and was composed of piccolos, flutes, oboes, clarinets, horns, cornets, trumpets, trombones, tubas, and violins, among other instruments. The musicians, aged between 12 and 77, played a piece by Tchaikovsky: the Slavic March. It was a moving spectacle.

As stunning as El Sistema’s prize-winning performance was, it will come nowhere close to the spectacular concert captured in today’s Bible text. Imagine an ensemble composed of myriads of angels, cherubim, and representatives of the redeemed mortals in unison with the universe singing the praise of Christ, the Lamb of God! The occasion? This is one of the revelations that Apostle John saw on the Island of Patmos, in which he witnessed a mysterious but significant book about future events. The scroll, presented by God Himself, was so perfectly sealed that none in heaven or earth but Christ was able to unseal it. This feat occasioned this unprecedented ascription of praise to the Lord.

Christ is referred to as the Lamb, a reference to His redemptive sacrifice for the salvation of mankind and His meekness and innocence. Earlier, He was introduced as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, denoting His earthly ancestral trace to Judah (prophetically dubbed the lion’s whelp) and His everlasting dominion. Only He, the occupant of these offices, in whom dwells “all the fulness of the Godhead,” could explain and execute God’s purposes and plans concerning the government of the world and the Church. For all these, He earns the praise and worship of angels, men, and indeed, all creature.

This revelation, doubtless, deepened Apostle John’s conviction about Christ’s divinity and power. Very often, we get so familiar with the name of the Lord Jesus that we lose sight of His sovereignty over us and all things. But if we are conscious of His true worth, we cannot help but lend our hearts and voices to the heavenly song of the ransomed.
