BASIC SCRIPTURE 7th November 2026 BIBLE READING PRAYER POINTS AND DECLARATIONS

BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOB 23: 8 – 17
BASIC SCRIPTURE: SATURDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER 2026 — JOB 23:8-17 (KJV)
-
Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
-
On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
-
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
-
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
-
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
-
But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
-
For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
-
Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
-
For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
-
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

PRAYER P OINTS — SATURDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER 2026
-
Father, when I go forward and cannot find You, when I go backward and cannot perceive You, let me not lose hope. Let me trust that You know the way that I take.
-
Lord, when You hide Yourself on the right hand and I cannot see You, let me remember that You are still there. Let me walk by faith and not by sight.
-
Father, I thank You that You know the way that I take. You see my path. You know my journey. You understand my situation.
-
Lord, when You have tried me, let me come forth as gold. Let every trial purify me and make me more like You.
-
Father, help me to hold Your steps. Let my foot not decline from Your way. Let me keep Your commandments and not go back.
-
Lord, let me esteem the words of Your mouth more than my necessary food. Let Your word be my daily bread and my greatest treasure.
-
Father, I submit to Your sovereign will. You are in one mind, and who can turn You? Let Your will be done in my life.
-
Lord, even when You trouble me and make my heart soft, let me trust You. Let me not be cut off before the darkness, but let me see Your light.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION — SATURDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER 2026
Key Verse: Job 23:10 — “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
Where Is God? (Verses 8-9):
Job is in deep distress. He has lost everything. His children. His wealth. His health. His reputation. His friends have turned against him. His wife has turned against him. He is alone. He is suffering. He is in agony. And he is looking for God. He goes forward. God is not there. He goes backward. He cannot perceive Him. He goes to the left. He cannot behold Him. He hides Himself on the right. He cannot see Him. God is silent. God is hidden. God is absent. This is the cry of Job’s heart. “Where is God? Why has He abandoned me? Why has He hidden His face from me?”
God Knows the Way (Verse 10):
Job does not give up. He does not lose faith. He does not turn away. He says, “But he knoweth the way that I take.” Even though he cannot see God. Even though he cannot find God. Even though he cannot perceive God. He knows that God sees him. He knows that God knows him. He knows that God knows his way. God knows the path that Job is taking. God knows the journey that Job is on. God knows the trial that Job is enduring. God knows the suffering that Job is experiencing. God knows. And that is enough.
When He Hath Tried Me (Verse 10):
Job says, “When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” He recognizes that this trial is not punishment. It is not rejection. It is not abandonment. It is a test. It is a refining process. It is a purification. It is a preparation. Gold is purified by fire. It is melted. It is heated. It is refined. The impurities are removed. The dross is burned away. And what remains is pure gold. Job knows that his trial will do the same for him. It will purify him. It will refine him. It will remove the impurities. It will burn away the dross. And he will come forth as gold. He will be purer. He will be stronger. He will be more precious. He will be more valuable. He will be more like God.
Job’s Integrity (Verses 11-12):
Job defends his integrity. He declares his faithfulness. He says, “My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.” He has followed God’s steps. He has kept God’s way. He has not turned aside. He has not declined. He has not deviated. He says, “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” He has not gone back from God’s commands. He has not disobeyed God’s lips. He has not forsaken God’s words. He has esteemed God’s words more than his necessary food. More than bread. More than water. More than sustenance. More than life. God’s word was his treasure. God’s word was his delight. God’s word was his life.
The Sovereignty of God (Verses 13-14):
Job recognizes the sovereignty of God. He says, “But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.” God is unchanging. God is immutable. God is sovereign. God is in control. No one can turn Him. No one can change Him. No one can stop Him. No one can resist Him. What He desires, He does. What He wills, He accomplishes. What He purposes, He fulfils. And Job says, “For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.” God is performing what is appointed for Job. God is doing what is planned for Job. God is accomplishing what is destined for Job. This is not random. This is not accidental. This is not without purpose. This is God’s plan. This is God’s purpose. This is God’s will.
Job’s Fear (Verses 15-17):
Job is troubled. He is afraid. He says, “Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him. For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me.” Job is not afraid of God in the sense of terror. He is afraid in the sense of awe. He is afraid in the sense of reverence. He is afraid in the sense of wonder. He is overwhelmed by God’s presence. He is overwhelmed by God’s power. He is overwhelmed by God’s sovereignty. And he says, “Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.” He was not cut off before the darkness came. He was not spared the trial. He was not protected from the suffering. The darkness came. The trial came. The suffering came. And God did not cover the darkness from his face. He had to face it. He had to endure it. He had to go through it.
The Lesson for Us:
Are you in a season of darkness? Are you going through a trial? Are you suffering? Are you looking for God and cannot find Him? Do not give up. Do not lose hope. God knows the way that you take. He sees you. He knows you. He knows your path. He knows your journey. He knows your pain. He knows your suffering. And when He has tried you, you will come forth as gold. Your trial is not punishment. It is not rejection. It is refinement. It is purification. It is preparation. God is making you pure. God is making you strong. God is making you valuable. God is making you like Him. Hold His steps. Keep His way. Do not decline. Do not go back from His commandments. Esteem His words more than your necessary food. Trust His sovereignty. Submit to His will. And even when you are troubled and afraid, trust Him. Because He is in control. He is working. He is performing what is appointed for you. And you will come forth as gold.
