Psalms 73:25 – Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Psalms 25:2 – O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalms 3:3 – But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Isaiah 14:1 – For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
Luke 18:38 – And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Matthew 14:30 – But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
Hebrews 4:15 – For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Psalms 102:13 – Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
Luke 1:78 – Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.
Exodus 15:13 – Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
Hebrews 2:17 – Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
1 Chronicles 4:10 – And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Isaiah 31:1 – Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Isaiah 14:27 – For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Job 9:10 – Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
Isaiah 49:15 – Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Psalms 3:2 – Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
Psalms 13:5 – But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
Hebrews 13:6 – So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
PART TWO: COMMENTARY ON THE SCRIPTURES
Introduction: A Declaration of Mercy
On this Mercy Wednesday, the sixth anniversary of NSPPD continues with a powerful compilation of scriptures focused on mercy, trust, and divine help. Each verse is carefully selected to build faith and align declarations with God’s Word.
The foundation is Psalm 136:1 – “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” This is the refrain that echoes through the Psalms and through the ages: mercy is not temporary; it is eternal. Mercy is not occasional; it is enduring.
The Foundation of Mercy
Lamentations 3:22-23 declares: “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
This is the anchor for Mercy Wednesday. We are not consumed because mercy protects us. Compassions fail not because God is faithful. Every morning brings fresh mercy. No matter what happened yesterday, today’s mercy is new.
Hebrews 4:16 invites us to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Boldness is not arrogance; it is confidence in God’s character. We do not come hesitantly; we come boldly because we know the One who sits on the throne.
The Source of Help
Psalm 121:1-2 declares: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
Help is not found in human resources, connections, or strategies. Help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth. The One who made the mountains can move them. The One who made the heavens can open them.
Psalm 20:7 contrasts human trust with divine trust: “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Chariots and horses represent human strength, technology, military might. But the name of the Lord is our trust.
Isaiah 31:1 warns against looking to Egypt for help—against trusting in human alliances and natural resources instead of the Holy One of Israel. This is a call to redirect our trust from the world to God.
The Cry for Mercy
Luke 18:38 records the cry of blind Bartimaeus: “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” Despite the crowd telling him to be quiet, he cried out louder. His persistent cry for mercy was answered with healing.
Matthew 14:30 captures Peter’s cry when he began to sink: “Lord, save me.” It was a short prayer but a sufficient one. Jesus immediately reached out and caught him.
Psalm 61:2 is the cry of the overwhelmed heart: “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
The Assurance of God’s Presence
Psalm 3:3 declares: “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” God is not distant; He is a shield, a glory, a lifter.
Isaiah 49:15 gives the ultimate assurance: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Human love may fail, but God’s love never fails.
Hebrews 13:6 declares: “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” With the Lord as Helper, fear is irrational.
The Jabez Connection
1 Chronicles 4:10 is included in this compilation: “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
This prayer for blessing, enlargement, divine presence, and protection is a model for believers. And the testimony is: God granted him what he requested.
The Set Time
Psalm 102:13 declares: “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
This is the prophetic declaration for this season. The set time for favour has come. Not a random time. Not a convenient time. THE SET TIME. The time appointed by God. The time when mercy speaks.
PART THREE: PERSONALIZED DECLARATIONS FOR TODAY
I DECLARE that God is good, and His mercy endures forever!
I DECLARE that it is by His mercies that I am not consumed; His compassions fail not!
I DECLARE that His mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness!
I DECLARE that I have no one in heaven but God, and none on earth I desire beside Him!
I DECLARE that I trust in God; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me!
I DECLARE that I come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need!
I DECLARE that I do not trust in chariots or horses; I remember the name of the Lord my God!
I DECLARE that it is nothing for God to help, whether with many or with those who have no power!

I DECLARE that the set time to favour me has come!

I DECLARE that God leads me in His mercy and guides me in His strength!
I DECLARE that Jesus is my merciful and faithful High Priest!
I DECLARE that as Jabez, God blesses me indeed, enlarges my coast, keeps His hand with me, and keeps me from evil!
I DECLARE that I do not go down to Egypt for help; I look to the Holy One of Israel!
I DECLARE that the Lord of hosts has purposed, and no one can disannul it!
I DECLARE that God does great things past finding out and wonders without number!
I DECLARE that though a mother may forget, God will never forget me!
I DECLARE that though many say there is no help for me in God, I trust in His mercy!

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Mercy
Father, I thank You that Your mercy endures forever. I thank You that it is by Your mercies that I am not consumed. I thank You that Your compassions fail not and that they are new every morning.
Great is Your faithfulness!
Prayer for Bold Access
Father, I come boldly to Your throne of grace. I do not come hesitantly or timidly. I come with confidence because You are the God of mercy. I obtain mercy for my failures and find grace for my needs.
Prayer for Divine Help
Father, I lift my eyes to You, from whom my help comes. I do not trust in chariots or horses; I trust in the name of the Lord my God. It is nothing for You to help me, whether I have many resources or none at all. I rest on You.
Prayer When Overwhelmed
Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Let me not sink in the sea of my circumstances. Let me stand on solid ground.
Prayer for Mercy
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. Like Bartimaeus, I cry out to You. Like Peter sinking in the waves, I cry, “Lord, save me.” Hear my cry and answer with Your mercy.

Father, the set time to favour me has come. You have arisen to have mercy upon me. Let the dayspring from on high visit me. Let Your tender mercy be revealed in my life.

Father, bless me indeed. Enlarge my coast. Let Your hand be with me. Keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. As You granted Jabez his request, grant me mine.
Prayer Against Misplaced Trust
Father, keep me from going down to Egypt for help. Let me not trust in human resources, connections, or strategies. Let me look to You, the Holy One of Israel.
Prayer for Unfailing Memory
Lord, though a mother may forget her child, You will never forget me. I rest in Your unfailing memory and unchanging love.
Closing Prayer
Father, I have trusted in Your mercy. My heart rejoices in Your salvation. The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

I thank You that I can come boldly to Your throne of grace. I thank You that help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth.
I thank You that when my heart is overwhelmed, You lead me to the rock. I thank You that You are my shield, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I thank You that the set time to favour me has come. I thank You that Your tender mercy has visited me.
I thank You for the prayer of Jabez and for the testimony that You grant what he requested.
