Commentary

In the midst of 2026, we embrace great mercy. We are halfway through the year. Some battles have been fought. Some tears have been shed. Some prayers have been prayed. But Pastor Jerry Eze declares: what is a new season without new mercies? You cannot enter June with the mercies of January. Every new season requires fresh mercy. Every new level requires new grace. The mercies that carried you through the first half of the year are sufficient – but God is releasing great mercy for the second half.

What is June if mercy does not take over? June could be a month of struggle, delay, and disappointment – but mercy changes everything. When mercy takes over, judgment is suspended. When mercy takes over, punishment is cancelled. When mercy takes over, the enemy’s plans are overruled. Mercy is not God overlooking your faults – mercy is God intervening on your behalf despite your faults.

The anchor scripture is Habakkuk 3:2 – a prophetic cry: “O LORD, revive Thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.” Habakkuk was living in a time of coming judgment. He knew that God’s justice would be displayed. But he pleaded: when You act in wrath, remember mercy. When You shake the nations, remember mercy. When You judge the wicked, remember mercy.

This is our prayer for June: in wrath, remember mercy. If there is any judgment hanging over your life – any consequence of past mistakes, any reaping of what you have sown – let mercy intervene. Let mercy speak louder than justice. Let mercy overturn what judgment has declared.

The eight great mercies for June cover every area of need:

• Mercy for a New Season – Not everyone who enters a new season possesses it. Mercy gives you the grace to walk in what God has prepared for you.
• Mercy for Laughter – Sorrow has been your companion for too long. Mercy brings laughter – deep, genuine, healing laughter.
• Mercy for Restoration – The enemy has stolen your years, your peace, your health, your finances, your relationships. Mercy commands restoration.
• Mercy that wipes bitter tears – The tears of betrayal, loss, disappointment, and pain. Mercy does not ignore them – mercy wipes them.
• Mercy for Open Heavens – When the heavens are open, blessings rain down. Mercy unlocks the heavens over your life.
• Mercy for the Hand of the Lord – God’s hand brings miracles, provision, protection, and power. Mercy places that hand upon you.
• Mercy for the Rising of Favour – Favour that lifts you when you are down, favour that opens doors when you are locked out, favour that promotes you when you are overlooked.
• Mercy for a Turnaround – A complete reversal. What has been going down begins to go up. What has been shrinking begins to grow. What has been failing begins to succeed.

The prophetic instructions include bringing every negative report to the altar of mercy. Do not hide your bad news. Do not pretend it does not exist. Bring the medical report, the financial statement, the legal document, the academic result – lay it on the altar. Mercy exchanges negative reports for positive testimonies.

Declare with desperation and confidence: “OH LORD, PLEASE SHOW ME GREAT MERCY IN JUNE.” Not small mercy – great mercy. Not occasional mercy – abundant mercy. Not mercy for others – mercy for you.

Prayer 1: Father, in the midst of 2026, I embrace great mercy. I do not deserve it – but I need it. I do not earn it – but I receive it. Let mercy take over my life this June. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 2: Father, what is a new season without new mercies? I enter June not with the mercies of January – I enter with fresh, new, great mercies. Let every day of this month be marked by mercy. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 3: Father, what is June if mercy does not take over? If mercy does not take over my health, my finances, my marriage, my career, my destiny – then June will be like every other month. But mercy is taking over. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 4: Father, just as Habakkuk cried, I cry: revive Your work in the midst of the years. Every good work You started in my life that has stalled – revive it. Every promise that has been delayed – revive it. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 5: Father, in wrath, remember mercy. If there is any judgment hanging over my life because of my mistakes – remember mercy. If there is any punishment coming because of my sins – remember mercy. Let mercy speak for me. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 6: Father, I receive mercy for a new season. Give me the grace to walk in the new season You have prepared for me. Let me not miss it. Let me not waste it. Let me possess it fully. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 7: Father, I receive mercy for laughter. My mouth has been filled with complaints, with tears, with silence. Fill my mouth with laughter this June. Let me laugh so loud that my enemies hear and are ashamed. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 8: Father, I receive mercy for restoration. Restore my health. Restore my finances. Restore my marriage. Restore my peace. Restore my joy. Restore my years. Let everything the enemy stole be returned sevenfold. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 9: Father, I receive mercy that wipes bitter tears. You see the tears I have cried – over lost loved ones, over failed dreams, over broken relationships, over wasted years. Wipe those tears, Lord. Let me cry no more. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 10: Father, I receive mercy for open heavens. Open the heavens over my life. Let blessings rain down. Let favour pour out. Let angelic activity increase. No more closed heavens. No more brass skies. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 11: Father, I receive mercy for the hand of the Lord. Let Your hand rest upon me – for miracles, for provision, for protection, for direction. Let Your hand be heavy upon my enemies and light upon my struggles. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 12: Father, I receive mercy for the rising of favour. Let favour rise over me like the sun. Let it chase away every shadow of rejection. Let it open doors that have been closed for years. Let favour lift me higher. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 13: Father, I receive mercy for a turnaround. Turn around my health – from sickness to wholeness. Turn around my finances – from poverty to prosperity. Turn around my marriage – from struggle to peace. Turn around my destiny – from delay to manifestation. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 14: Father, I bring every negative report to the altar of mercy. (Name your negative reports – medical, financial, legal, academic, relational). I lay them before You. Mercy, exchange these reports for testimonies. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 15: Father, I have written my plans and projects for June. I commit them to Your mercy. Let every one succeed. Let nothing I touch fail. Let my labour produce fruit. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 16: Father, I have written what I never want to see in June. I seal that list by the blood of Jesus. Accident, sickness, death, shame, poverty, failure – you shall not come near me. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 17: Father, I have downloaded photos of my expectations for June. My eyes have seen them in faith. Now let my hands hold them in reality. Let every expectation be fulfilled before this month ends. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer 18: Father, I bring my mantle to Your altar. Impart fresh mercy into my mantle. Let my mantle carry the fragrance of Your favour. Let my mantle open doors wherever I go. In Jesus’ name.
