16. And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOSHUA 1:1-9 (KJV)

1. Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,

2. Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, open my spiritual eyes to see that they that be with me are more than they that be with them. Remove every fear of the enemy. (2 Kings 6:16)

2. Lord, help me to arise after every death — after Moses is gone, let me not remain at the grave. Let me go over my Jordan. (Joshua 1:2)

3. Father, give me every place that the sole of my foot shall tread upon. Let me possess my possessions in Jesus’ name. (Joshua 1:3)

4. Lord, let no man be able to stand before me all the days of my life. Let every enemy be scattered before my face. (Joshua 1:5)

5. Father, I receive Your promise: “I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Let this word anchor my soul today. (Joshua 1:5)

6. Lord, give me strength and good courage. I refuse to be afraid or dismayed, no matter how great the giants or the walls. (Joshua 1:6, 9)

7. Father, help me to meditate in Your word day and night, that I may observe to do all that is written therein. (Joshua 1:8)

8. Lord, let my way be prosperous. Let me have good success — not worldly success, but success according to Your word. (Joshua 1:8)

DECLARATIONS

1. I declare that I will not fear. They that be with me are more than they that be with them. The army of heaven is on my side.

2. Moses may be dead, but my Jordan is still open. I arise and go over into my promised land.

3. Every place that the sole of my foot treads upon is given to me. I am taking new ground today.

4. No man shall be able to stand before me all the days of my life. My enemies are defeated before they arise.

5. The LORD my God is with me. He will not fail me. He will not forsake me. I am not alone.

6. I am strong and of good courage. I will not be afraid. I will not be dismayed.

7. The book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth. I meditate in God’s word day and night.

8. My way is prosperous. I have good success. The LORD my God is with me whithersoever I go.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION

Key Verse (2 Kings): *2 Kings 6:16* — “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

Key Verse (Joshua): Joshua 1:9 — “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

The Four Promises to Joshua:

1. Every place you tread is yours (verse 3)

2. No man shall stand before you (verse 5)

3. I will not fail nor forsake you (verse 5)

4. Your way shall be prosperous (verse 8)

The Transition:

• Moses = the law

• Joshua = the leader who brings the people into the promise

• After Moses died, God did not say “Moses is dead, therefore the mission is over.”

• He said, “Moses is dead, now therefore arise.”

Question for the Day: What “Moses” has died in your life — what season, leader, or comfort is gone — and are you still standing at the grave instead of arising to go over your Jordan?
