TOPIC: DR. CLIFF ARNALL: THE WORST DAY OF THE YEAR!
Dr. Cliff Arnall, a British psychologist, developed a formula to determine the worst day of the year several years ago. One factor is the time lapse before and after every Christmas, when the holiday glow had given way to the reality of credit-card bills. Gloomy winter weather, short days, and the failure to keep New Year resolutions are also a part of Dr.Arnall’s calculations. While it is true that all days are not the same, scripturally speaking, every day originates from God and comes with a blessing. That means every day is blessed by God. Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” So, the fact that there is bad news, credit-card bills, court cases, accidents or any negative news doesn’t make the day bad! Yes! There are certain incidences that have taken place in the world that have made people to characterise certain days as the worst days on earth. For instance, the day Adolf Hitler killed about 6 million Jews, the September 11th Twin Tower US crisis, the October 7th, 2023 Israel/Hamas conflict that claimed many lives and destroyed fortunes, etc. As you journey through life, never see any day as bad no matter what happens, because as long as the earth remains, evil and wickedness shall never cease! Today’s scripture is filled with a celebration of God’s goodness and mercy in the midst of trouble and pain. Verse 14 comes as a shout of triumph, “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” As a child of God, always see the good in every day because all things shall always work together for your good (Romans 8:28). I see you singing a loud song of halleluiah! Hold on and Hold out!
