BASIC SCRIPTURE: FRIDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER 2026 — PSALM 118:15-24 (KJV)

15. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

16. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

17. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18. The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

19. Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:

20. This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

21. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

22. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

23. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

ADDITIONAL REFLECTION — FRIDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Key Verse: Psalm 118:24 — “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

The Voice of Rejoicing (Verse 15):

The psalmist declares that the voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous. The tabernacle is the dwelling place. It is the home. It is the family. It is the community. In the homes of the righteous, there is rejoicing. There is celebration. There is praise. There is thanksgiving. There is salvation. The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. God’s power is at work. God’s strength is displayed. God’s victory is won. And the result is joy. The result is celebration. The result is praise.

The Right Hand of the LORD (Verse 16):

The right hand is the hand of power. It is the hand of strength. It is the hand of authority. It is the hand of victory. The right hand of the Lord is exalted. It is lifted up. It is honored. It is praised. And the right hand of the Lord does valiantly. It accomplishes mighty things. It defeats enemies. It wins battles. It saves. It delivers. It protects. It provides. It heals. It restores. It gives life.

I Shall Not Die (Verse 17):

This is a declaration of faith. “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” The psalmist was in danger. He was under attack. He was facing death. But he declared that he would not die. He would live. He would survive. He would overcome. He would declare the works of the Lord. He would testify. He would witness. He would tell others what God had done. He would give God the glory.

The Chastening (Verse 18):

The psalmist acknowledged that the Lord had chastened him. He had been disciplined. He had been corrected. He had been rebuked. He had suffered. But the chastening was not unto death. God had not given him over to death. God had not abandoned him. God had not rejected him. God had not destroyed him. The chastening was for his good. It was for his growth. It was for his correction. It was for his restoration.

The Gates of Righteousness (Verses 19-20):

The psalmist cried out, “Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD.” He wanted to enter. He wanted to worship. He wanted to praise. He wanted to draw near to God. The gate of the Lord is the gate of the righteous. It is open to those who are righteous. It is open to those who are clean. It is open to those who are holy. It is open to those who are forgiven. It is open to those who are saved.

Praise for Answered Prayer (Verse 21):

The psalmist praised God. He said, “I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.” God heard his prayer. God answered his cry. God became his salvation. God saved him. God delivered him. God rescued him. God healed him. God restored him. And the psalmist praised Him. He gave thanks. He gave glory. He gave honor.

The Rejected Stone (Verses 22-23):

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” This is a Messianic prophecy. It refers to Jesus Christ. He was rejected by the builders. He was rejected by the religious leaders. He was rejected by the nation. He was crucified. He was killed. He was cast aside. But God raised Him from the dead. God exalted Him. God made Him the head stone of the corner. He is the foundation. He is the cornerstone. He is the most important stone. He is the one who holds everything together. And this is the Lord’s doing. It is His work. It is His plan. It is His purpose. And it is marvellous in our eyes.

This Is the Day (Verse 24):

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Every day is a gift from God. Every day is an opportunity. Every day is a blessing. Every day is a reason to rejoice. Every day is a reason to be glad. The psalmist chose to rejoice. He chose to be glad. He chose to celebrate. He chose to praise. He did not wait for circumstances to change. He did not wait for problems to be solved. He did not wait for everything to be perfect. He rejoiced today. He was glad today. He praised God today.

Is there rejoicing and salvation in your tabernacle? Is the right hand of the Lord doing valiantly in your life? Are you declaring the works of the Lord? Are you entering through the gates of righteousness? And are you rejoicing and being glad in this day that the Lord has made?
